Full Job Description
Amazon Manufacturing Services (AMS) is building an internal advanced manufacturing capability to accelerate Amazon's hardware innovation-delivering rapid, high-quality fabrication and assembly services that reduce cost and schedule risk across the product lifecycle. AMS provides manufacturing solutions spanning additive manufacturing, precision machining, and sheet metal fabrication to support the development of next-generation automation systems and operations fulfillment technologies.

We are seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead the initial planning, coordination, and execution of AMS manufacturing and assembly operations in the greater Seattle area. In this role, you will first focus on standing up and scaling manufacturing operations at AMS's current facilities, building the foundational processes, mechanisms, and cross-functional partnerships needed to deliver manufactured goods on time and at quality.

The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and brings strong planning and execution discipline to every initiative. You are equally comfortable developing a master schedule as you are walking the shop floor to unblock a production issue. You build trust across engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations teams, and you use data to drive decisions, simplify processes, and deliver measurable results. Experience in manufacturing operations, production environments, or industrial program management is highly valued.

Key job responsibilities
• Own end-to-end program planning and execution for manufacturing and assembly operations, defining scope, schedule, resource needs, risk mitigations, and success criteria from initial ramp through steady-state operations.
• Drive cross-functional coordination across manufacturing engineering, quality, supply chain, facilities, and design engineering teams to align dependencies, unblock delivery, and ensure manufacturing readiness for new product introductions.
• Develop and manage production schedules and capacity plans, balancing near-term order fulfillment with longer-term facility and capability investments to meet product development timelines.
• Create and maintain manufacturing readiness criteria, launch checklists, and go/no-go gate mechanisms that ensure quality and safety standards are met prior to production milestones.
• Establish program metrics, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms (e.g., on-time delivery, throughput, quality yield, capacity utilization) to provide leadership visibility into operational health and program progress.
• Coordinate vendor and contractor engagements for outsourced services, tooling, and equipment installation-managing statements of work, timelines, and deliverable quality.
• Drive process improvement initiatives and standard work practices that improve operational efficiency, reduce cycle times, and build repeatable, scalable frameworks. Support quality management system compliance and continuous improvement across the shop floor.
• Partner with leadership to develop the transition plan for a large-scale advanced manufacturing facility, translating operational learnings into site readiness requirements, staffing models, and launch playbooks.
• Communicate program status, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership through clear narratives, operational reviews, and data-backed recommendations.
• Capture operational learnings and drive them back into engineering requirements, process documentation, and updated standard work-ensuring continuous feedback loops between the shop floor and product development teams.

A day in the life

Your day is dynamic and hands-on. You might start with a production standup alongside machinists and quality engineers, reviewing the day's manufacturing priorities and resolving a tooling constraint. By mid-morning, you're leading a cross-functional sync with design engineering and supply chain to align on an upcoming product build. After lunch, you're diving into operational data-updating capacity models, refining the master schedule, or preparing a narrative for an upcoming leadership review. No two days look the same, and you'll move fluidly between the shop floor and the conference room as you build the operational foundation for Amazon's manufacturing future.
