Full Job Description
Description Overview

We are excited to recruit a Senior Professional, Scientific Policy and Intelligence to join our newly established Scientific Policy & Intelligence (SPI) team, based in Morristown, New Jersey. This role will have a primary focus on US regulatory intelligence and external engagement, including coordination of Perrigo's scientific experts' interaction with key US trade associations such as CHPA, while ensuring US developments are interpreted within the broader global self-care context and considering an enterprise view.

Reporting directly to the Head of Scientific Policy & Intelligence, a member of Perrigo's Scientific Office Leadership Team, you will work closely with subject matter experts and senior leaders across the organisation. You will provide scientific and regulatory analysis to support Perrigo's assessment of, and response to, emerging US external developments across assigned categories, portfolios or strategic topics. The role translates complex scientific, regulatory and policy signals into clear, forward-looking insights and recommendations that support responsible self-care, portfolio resilience, compliant delivery and informed enterprise decision-making.

Operating as a technical contributor and trusted stakeholder partner, the role connects individual intelligence updates into an integrated view of trends, threats and opportunities for Perrigo's US products and pipeline, while identifying where US policy developments may inform, influence or diverge from the broader global policy environment. It applies strong scientific and critical judgement to anticipate change, solve complex problems and inform decisions with broad business impact.

This is an individual contributor role focused on technical policy and intelligence expertise, governance support and delivery of outcomes within the assigned remit. It works through matrix collaboration across subject matter experts and cross-functional teams, helping build organisational capability and coordinated enterprise alignment.

Scope of the Role

  • Support US policy and intelligence oversight with a focus on interpretation and business impact assessment of emerging scientific, regulatory and policy developments.
  • Support the development of US and global scientific and regulatory policy positions on key topics in collaboration with internal subject matter experts, ensuring US perspectives are clearly linked to broader global implications.
  • Interpret, assess and contextualise US regulatory and policy developments relevant to Perrigo's current and future portfolio, in collaboration with internal subject matter experts. Undertake trend analysis and landscape mapping, and contribute to internal positions, consultation responses and briefing materials to support robust industry input, particularly through US trade association engagement, ensuring alignment on topics, priorities and context.
  • Contribute to cross-functional advocacy strategies by connecting scientific policy and intelligence insights with Government Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Medical, Commercial and Communications priorities.
  • Support the dissemination of critical information on key policy topics to relevant stakeholders, ensuring awareness, understanding and organisational readiness.

External Engagement & Trade Association Leadership
  • Support Perrigo's participation in key US industry associations and external policy forums, with a particular focus on CHPA and other relevant US self-care policy platforms.
  • Help maximise Perrigo's impact in US trade associations by coordinating internal inputs and outputs, working with relevant subject matter experts and committee representatives, and ensuring Perrigo positions are scientifically robust, business-relevant and globally connected where appropriate.
  • Contribute high-quality input into senior and board-level briefings ahead of key US association meetings, translating complex external developments into clear implications, options and recommended actions for the US business and wider global portfolio

Governance Forums
  • Contribute to key Perrigo scientific and regulatory policy forums relating to US policy and intelligence topics, supporting effective governance, alignment and consistent decision-making across assigned topics and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of advocacy training to build internal capability and consistency across the enterprise.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of structured outputs from policy forums, ensuring clear documentation of discussions, positions and agreed actions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Trusted partner to subject matter experts and leaders across Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Medical, Legal, Government Affairs, Commercial, Quality and other relevant functions on US policy and intelligence topics within remit, ensuring appropriate connection to global priorities and decision-making.
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment on emerging risks, policy developments and external trends, ensuring implications are understood and appropriately actioned.
  • Support horizontal topics that span the US, other regions, categories or subject areas, ensuring relevant input is gathered and translated into coherent insight that reflects both US-specific and global considerations.
  • Ensure clear handover and follow-up where intelligence or policy outputs require action by accountable execution teams.
  • Trusted expert partner on strategic and complex policy or intelligence topics, providing clear analysis, options and recommendations.

Experience Required

  • A degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Regulatory Affairs or a related field, significant experience in regulatory affairs and regulatory intelligence within the consumer health industry.
  • Strong experience across relevant consumer health regulatory classifications - specifically medicines knowledge essential, ideally within a global, matrixed environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in US external regulatory monitoring, industry association engagement, regulatory advocacy or consultation response development
  • A strong understanding of US regulatory frameworks, policy development processes, external stakeholder environments and the business implications of regulatory change, with the ability to connect US developments to relevant global policy and portfolio considerations
Proven ability to translate raw intelligence into clear, prioritised and actionable insights, helping stakeholders understand what has changed, why it matters and what action may be required.
  • Strong scientific and critical judgement, with the ability to assess emerging risks and opportunities and make risk-based recommendations that balance regulatory requirements, consumer safety, business continuity, policy direction and portfolio impact.
  • Ability to identify, escalate and document emerging risks that may impact compliance, supply continuity, product strategy or reputation, ensuring clear follow-up with accountable functions.
  • Strong communication and senior-level briefing skills, with the ability to distil complex scientific, regulatory and policy topics into concise, decision-ready messages for senior stakeholders, board-level materials and external engagement.
  • Digital and data-driven mindset, using structured frameworks, digital tools, dashboards and data visualisation to track trends, assess impact and support evidence-based prioritisation.
  • Collaborative leadership style, with the ability to build capability through coaching, prioritisation, feedback and effective matrix leadership across subject matter experts and cross-functional teams.
