Senior Product Owner
The Senior Product Owner is responsible for maximizing the value of products delivered by Agile teams by defining product direction, prioritizing work, and ensuring alignment between stakeholder needs and delivery outcomes. This role works across business, technology, operations, and delivery teams to clarify objectives, evaluate tradeoffs, and guide product capabilities from concept through implementation and ongoing improvement.
Serving as the primary product decision-maker for the Agile team, the Senior Product Owner owns the product backlog, defines features and user stories, establishes acceptance criteria, and prioritizes work based on business value, feasibility, risk, cost, and timing. The role ensures the team has the information and direction needed to deliver the right product capabilities in the right sequence.
The Senior Product Owner also begins to influence department strategy by identifying product opportunities, improving prioritization practices, supporting roadmap development, and helping align delivery efforts to broader business goals. Work is performed with minimal direction, and the role requires sound judgment, strong stakeholder partnership, and the ability to make decisions on moderately complex to complex issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and communicate product vision, goals, roadmap priorities, and expected outcomes.
- Own, manage, and prioritize the product backlog based on business value, stakeholder needs, feasibility, risk, cost, and timing.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs, clarify requirements, and align delivery work to strategic objectives.
- Translate business needs into features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and actionable team priorities.
- Serve as the Agile team’s primary point of contact for product decisions, requirement clarification, and prioritization.
- Evaluate tradeoffs and make informed decisionsto balance value, scope, schedule, budget, risk, and delivery constraints.
- Collaborate with technology, operations, business, analytics, compliance, and other cross-functional partners as needed.
- Support product planning, release planning, implementation readiness, adoption,and ongoing product improvement.
- Monitor progress toward outcomes and use data, feedback, and stakeholder input to inform future priorities.
- Influence departmental strategy by identifying opportunities to improve products, processes, and delivery effectiveness.

Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a product owner
- 5+ years of experience driving large scale implementations in Agile and/or waterfall methodologies
- Experience interacting with various levels of upper management to inform product prioritization
- Experience in translating product features to user stories
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree
- In-depth understanding of the healthcare insurance industry and the application of AI in this sector.
- Demonstrated success in defining, delivering, and scaling AI-enabled products or features that drive measurable business value.
- Experience working within a scaled agile framework (e.g., SAFe) is highly preferred
- Proficiency with agile tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) and a data-driven approach to prioritization and decision making.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$94,900 - $130,500 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
