Full Job Description

What you'll be doing

Simplii Financial is a modern, customer-first organization, and our Product Managers bring this vision to life every day. As a Product Manager at Simplii, you'll be embedded in a squad where you own meaningful product scope end-to-end. You'll set the product direction for your area, lead discovery, and translate customer insights into a clear, prioritized backlog your squad can execute. You'll work alongside designers, engineers, analysts, and researchers, ensuring the customer problem remainsvisible and delivery stays focused. As a member of the Product Management team, you'll be supported in your professional development and career growth by the Director, Product Management. Day-to-day, you'll be accountable to your squad and the outcomes they're responsible for delivering.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed

  • Discovery and Customer Insight – Lead structured discovery for your product area by analyzing customer data, surfacing meaningful patterns, and building business cases that connect customer needs to product opportunities. Clearly define the problem space before moving toward solutions.

  • Backlog and Delivery Ownership – Maintain a clear, well-prioritized backlog that reflects both customer and business priorities. Write well-formed user stories, define precise acceptance criteria, and drive work through delivery while keeping the original customer intent in focus.

  • Outcome Accountability – Define and own the metrics that matter for your area. Stay close to the data, flag what is not working, and use insights to inform your next decisions, ensuring delivery leads to real impact.

  • Influencing Without Authority – Drive alignment across designers, engineers, risk partners, and business stakeholders who do not report to you. Build trust through clarity, consistency, and follow-through, bringing teams to decisions without relying on hierarchy.

  • Stakeholder Communication – Translate product strategy, tradeoffs, and delivery risks into clear, confident narratives for partners and senior stakeholders. Tailor your communication to your audience, providing what they need to make informed decisions.

Who you are

  • You bring relevant experience. You have 5 to 8 years of experience in product management, with a track record of delivering outcomes in complex, cross-functional environments, ideally within financial services, fintech, or another regulated industry.

  • You put the customer first, always. You start from customer needs, validate your assumptions, and keep the customer's experience visible through every prioritization decision and delivery tradeoff. This is a practice you demonstrate, not just a principle you recite.

  • You think in outcomes, not outputs. You care about whether the work drives meaningful change, not just whether it ships. You stay close to your metrics and take accountability for what they tell you.

  • You obsess over the details. You carefully review user stories, question edge cases, and notice when acceptance criteria drift from customer intent—and you take action to address it.

  • You act like an owner. You proactively address what needs attention, stay close to the work, take accountability for outcomes, and bring care to every part of delivery, whether visible or behind the scenes.

  • You lead without a title. You earn alignment from people who do not report to you by being clear, consistent, and easy to work with. People follow your lead because they trust your judgment, not your position.

  • Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work, and you live our values - trust, teamwork, and accountability.
