Full Job Description
This is a hands-on product quality engineering role supporting new product development (NPD). You will support the 5-star standard by executing quality reviews, testing coordination, and DFMEA analysis across assigned NPD programs, working under the direction of the Product Excellence team to help ensure products are safe, certified, and consumer-validated ahead of launch. Product Excellence's mandate is simple: every product SharkNinja ships should earn and sustain 5 stars. This role supports that mandate by executing the day-to-day quality engineering work - testing coordination, DFMEA tracking, and build-review support - that underpins each launch. This role requires strong technical execution and clear communication. You will represent the consumer voice in assigned program reviews, flag risks to your manager and cross-functional counterparts, and help drive follow-through on identified issues. You will work within Engineering, Product Development, and the broader Product Excellence organization - supporting risk identification, contributing to predictive modeling using consumer validation data, and helping execute the structured testing, regulatory, and DFMEA processes that underpin each launch. Your job is to help find issues before the consumer does. You report to leader within Product Excellence and work closely with assigned Engineering and Product Development team members on your categories. Key Responsibilities 5-Star NPD Standard Support • Support the 5-star standard on assigned NPD programs - flagging early risks to your manager and relevant stakeholders. • Track known and emerging risks on assigned programs and escalate concerns through your manager. • Bring a structured, evidence-based perspective to build reviews you attend, contributing specific observations and suggested improvements. EB0 and Pre-MP VEGA Hack Participation • Provide quality input into EB0 build reviews for assigned programs, ensuring product excellence requirements are documented and tracked. • Participate in and help facilitate Pre-MP VEGA Hack sessions to identify quality and consumer experience issues before mass production lock. • Document findings from EB0 and Pre-MP activities and track them to resolution. Predictive Modeling Support • Apply existing predictive models at each build stage to help forecast in-market rating performance for assigned programs. • Help translate consumer validation results into structured recommendations for Engineering and Product Development. • Support tracking of model accuracy and flag discrepancies for review. Testing Plan and Safety/Regulatory/Certification Coordination • Confirm that Testing has built comprehensive testing plans and protocols for assigned NPD programs, covering performance, durability, safety, and consumer experience. • Coordinate with Engineering, Testing, and external test labs to track safety testing execution and closure on assigned programs, escalating delays or issues to your manager. DFMEA Support Ahead of TRA • Support the completeness and quality of DFMEA documentation ahead of TRA for assigned programs, ensuring failure modes are identified and mitigation actions are documented. • Review DFMEAs for real-world consumer use considerations and raise gaps to Engineering and your manager. • Track open DFMEA actions on assigned programs through to closure. Who You Are Required: • 3+ years of experience in product quality, product development, or a related engineering function - ideally within consumer electronics or home appliances. • Working knowledge of DFMEA methodology and ability to review documentation for completeness and quality. • Familiarity with safety testing, regulatory standards, and certification processes for at least one major market (e.g., US, EU, UK). • Comfortable working with data (e.g., IHUT data), organizing structured outputs, and summarizing findings for engineering stakeholders. • Clear communicator able to raise issues constructively to peers and stakeholders, with evidence to support observations. • Organized and detail-oriented, able to support multiple NPD programs at once. Preferred: • Experience participating in VEGA hack sessions or similar structured pre-production quality events. • Exposure to predictive quality modeling using consumer research or IHUT data. • Familiarity with claims substantiation requirements and the interface between testing, legal, and marketing. • Regulatory knowledge across more than one market for consumer electronics or home appliance categories. Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is displayed below. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. The Company offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts (HSA) with company contribution, 401(k) retirement plan with matching, employee stock purchase program, life insurance, AD&D, short-term disability insurance, long-term disability insurance, generous paid time off, company holidays, parental leave, identity theft protection, pet insurance, pre-paid legal insurance, back-up child and eldercare days, product discounts, referral bonus program, and more.
