Full Job Description
The role and its impact

This is a product led growth role, and it sits in our go to market team. Every month a large number of accountants and bookkeepers start the journey to becoming a Xero partner, and only a small fraction reach the point where they are set up, confident and ready to bring their clients across. Closing that gap is the job. Our performance marketing team delivers the traffic, and you turn it into engaged, paying partners, carrying a commercial number for the net new partner revenue that follows.

You will read the data across every channel, from the product experience to digital outreach to human sales conversations, and work out where partners get stuck and why. From there you will Go Bold by forming a hypothesis, designing an experiment and measuring the incremental revenue it creates, whether that means removing a step that stopped being useful years ago, making a hard step easier, or nudging people back to finish it. Some answers will be purely digital, some will need human intervention, and judging which is which is a real part of the craft. You will Go Further by turning the results into repeatable flywheels, and build the segmented model that decides who gets a digital only experience, who gets digital assistance and who earns a one to one approach.

The team and how they connect

You will join a small team inside Xero's Customer Growth and Engagement group, where each person looks after a stage of the accountant and bookkeeper lifecycle, from onboarding through to upsell and loyalty. The team is remote and async by design, spread across the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand, with a manager based in the UK. The team has been built from people with deep channel expertise rather than a product led growth background, so you would come in as the person who has done this elsewhere and can bring the playbooks with you.

The team is currently working on
• Scaling the result of our largest onboarding experiment so far
• Building predictive models that show which partners need a human conversation and which are better served digitally
• Opening up new channels in onboarding, including agentic outreach, voice and live chat, and testing where each one genuinely earns its place
• Connecting a partner's first ninety days to wider business priorities, including adoption across Xero, Syft and Melio as we move from a single product to a platform

Where and how you can work

This role is based in our Bay Area office in San Mateo, and we offer a flexible, hybrid set up so you can work from a mix of home and the office. We come together on designated boost days for the planning, problem solving and connection that is simply better in person, and our office spaces are built for collaboration with quieter corners for focused work. Because your team spans the UK, Australia and New Zealand, some flexibility in your hours will help, and in return we care about outcomes rather than where you sit.

Here are some of the things we're looking for, for this role
• You will bring a clear example of spotting a broken experience in the data, shipping a fix and measuring the commercial result it earned, ideally gained in a SaaS or AI business
• Experimentation is where you do your best work, from designing a clean A/B test to reading the results honestly and deciding what deserves to scale and what deserves to be stopped
• Data is how you make decisions, whether that is funnel analytics, behavioural signals, customer segmentation or propensity models, and curiosity about what makes accountants and bookkeepers tick sits behind it, because the nuance between segments is where the sharpest targeting comes from
• You Go Together by influencing Product, Marketing, Sales and Customer Success as a genuine partner without relying on formal authority, and you are organised enough to hold a long programme together across many teams at once
• Ambiguity does not slow you down, and you Go Fast by shipping, learning and refining rather than waiting for a perfect plan

Apply even if your experience isn't a perfect match! At Xero, we hire based on your skills, passion, and the unique perspective you can bring to enhance our culture and team.

Compensation & Total Rewards

At Xero, we value the impact and skills you bring to the team. We don't just hire for a role; we invest in people. We believe in a Total Package philosophy - which means your value isn't just a single number on a paycheck. While base salary is a core component, we look at your compensation through a holistic lens that includes equity, performance incentives, and world-class benefits.

The expected base salary range for this role is:
  • $162,400 - $243,600 USD

Individual pay is determined by various factors, including geography, level of experience, and the specific skills you bring to the role.

In addition to base pay, Xero's roles are eligible for the following forms of variable compensation:
  • Variable Pay: Permanent employees are eligible to participate in our annual bonus and equity (RSU) programs. You may also be eligible for performance-based cash or equity (RSUs) incentives depending on your role level, and company performance.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, and 21 days PTO, 10 days of Wellbeing leave, 5 days of Xtra Leave, 1 volunteer day, 12 paid holidays, paid parental leave. Further information included on our Xero Perks page.
