Full Job Description
Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent engineering experience.
  • 8 years of experience in manufacturing servers, data center architecture, electrical networking switches, enterprise storage arrays, or machine learning hardware (GPUs, TPUs, or accelerators).
  • Experience developing, testing, and integrating electrical and mechanical hardware systems directly with power, cooling, and networking infrastructure.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturing (CM) or Original Design Manufacturers (ODM) partners to manage factory readiness, execute Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and resolve manufacturing yield issues.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
  • 12 years of direct experience engineering and scaling hyper-scale data center infrastructure or enterprise-level hardware (e.g., high-performance servers, storage arrays, high-speed switches, or custom accelerators).
  • Experience with cross-functional integration of complex electrical and mechanical hardware with facility-level power distribution, liquid/air cooling systems, and high-density networking infrastructures.
  • Experience using statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma methodologies, and electrical/mechanical failure analysis to proactively eliminate data center field escapes and drive manufacturing cost reductions.

About the job
Be part of a team that pushes boundaries, developing custom silicon solutions that power the future of Google's direct-to-consumer products. You'll contribute to the innovation behind products loved by millions worldwide. Your expertise will shape the next generation of hardware experiences, delivering unparalleled performance, efficiency, and integration.

As a part of the Senior Product Engineer for Global Manufacturing Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in building, optimizing, and integrating hardware platforms for Google's data centers. You will operate within the Technical Infrastructure team, as this position serves as a critical bridge between New Product Introduction (NPI) teams and contract manufacturing partners globally. You will oversee the early engagement phases of server, storage, switch, rack, or accelerator hardware and successfully transition these complex platforms into sustaining, high-volume production environments.

In this role, you will bring a passion for technical troubleshooting and product efficiency, leading efforts to diagnose manufacturing yield issues and resolve data center field escapes. You will collaborate deeply with both internal engineering teams and manufacturing partners, analyze electrical schematics, evaluate bills of materials, and execute engineering change orders to continuously improve test coverage and reduce costs. Your role is ideal for an engineer with over a decade of manufacturing experience who grows on solving intricate hardware issues and ensuring factory readiness at scale.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
