Full Job Description
Creators deserve to understand how their work is performing, and we're building the tools to make that possible. The Analytics team within Spotify for Creators designs experiences that help podcasters, video creators, and publishers understand their audiences, reach, and growth across platforms. We're a small team solving meaningful challenges at the intersection of data visualization, AI, and creator tools.

We're looking for a Senior Product Designer who brings design and engineering together. You'll move between design tools and code, use your understanding of data and AI systems to inform your work, and collaborate closely with engineers to prototype and ship experiences.

You'll help shape the design direction for analytics across Spotify for Creators and Megaphone, from unified creator dashboards to AI-powered insights that help creators understand what's working and why. We're building toward a future where analytics goes beyond dashboards to surface useful information when creators need it.

What You'll Do

  • Own the end-to-end design of analytics experiences across Spotify for Creators and Megaphone, from early strategy through launch and iteration.
  • Design AI-powered analytics experiences that help creators explore their data and uncover relevant insights through intuitive interactions.
  • Build functional prototypes in code to explore ideas, test interactions, and help translate design intent into the shipped product.
  • Turn large, multidimensional datasets into experiences that are clear, useful, and actionable for creators with different levels of analytics experience.
  • Evolve our analytics experiences as the platform grows, including new data experiences for off-platform distribution and monetization tools.
  • Develop scalable patterns and approaches for analytics and data visualization, and share your expertise with teams across the product.
  • Partner with engineering, product, data science, and research to develop solutions that balance user needs, design quality, and technical considerations.
  • Explore concepts and prototypes quickly, choosing the right level of fidelity to communicate, test, and advance an idea.

Who You Are

  • You have 5+ years of product design experience and a portfolio that demonstrates design craft and systems thinking.
  • You are comfortable building functional prototypes with front-end technologies and working within a shared codebase.
  • You understand software systems and can use your knowledge of data pipelines, APIs, and model outputs to inform design decisions.
  • You have experience designing with AI or machine learning systems and understand how capabilities, limitations, and latency can shape the user experience.
  • You think in patterns, components, and scalable frameworks and can connect individual experiences to a broader product system.
  • You have experience designing data visualization or analytics experiences and can make complex information clear and actionable.
  • You are comfortable working independently, managing context across multiple workstreams, and involving collaborators when their perspective will strengthen the work.
  • You communicate design decisions clearly and can work through technical constraints with engineers, product managers, and other partners.
  • You have an online portfolio or PDF that demonstrates your approach, process, and relevant work.

Where You'll Be

  • This role is based in New York.
  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.

The United States base range for this position is $147,595-$210,850 USD, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six-month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, paid flexible holidays, and paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.

About Spotify

Spotify is a Swedish audio streaming and media services provider, launched in October 2008. The platform is owned by Spotify AB, a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange since April 2018. Spotify's primary business is providing an audio streaming platform, with the company claiming that it had 345 million active monthly users and 155 million paying subscribers as of December 2020. Unlike physical or download sales, which pay artists a fixed price per song or album sold, Spotify pays royalties based on the number of artist streams as a proportion of total songs streamed on the service. Spotify distributes approximately 70% of its total revenue to rights holders, who then pay artists based on their individual agreements. Spotify has faced criticism from artists and producers including Taylor Swift and Thom Yorke, who have argued that it does not fairly compensate musicians.
