(Senior) Product Data Analyst

Department: Software Solutions

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Reporting To: Regional Product Manager

Description

Based in Austin, you will contribute to the development of Aurora's growing suite of software products, used by leading companies across the energy sector. You will help clients implement their products on our platform and collaborate with multiple Aurora teams to improve the product and increase adoption. You will work with large datasets and support the deployment of our services across Americas regions. You will develop the skillset to step into the role of an Associate Product Manager.

Successful candidates will combine a passion for global energy transformation with a strong interest in product management and advanced data analytics. They will work in a dynamic, intellectually stimulating, demanding, and collaborative environment. They will gain a deep understanding of the energy industry and product management skills, working at the forefront of the global energy transformation. This position is being recruited at the Analyst level, with the potential to hire at Senior Analyst for candidates who demonstrate prior experience and impact relevant to the role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply advanced analytics techniques to deliver insights from energy modelling and other complex datasets
  • Work with a cross-functional team of highly skilled software engineers, modelers, and research analysts in continuous product delivery
  • Gather client feedback, support to answer client questions, and help them get the most value from our software and services
  • Test our products to ensure we deliver high quality and robust software to our clients
  • Become a subject matter expert for the product you work with, in areas such as energy modelling, renewables and batteries
  • Work with the Product Manager to maintain and update a prioritized product backlog using structured product management methodologies
  • Assist the Product Manager in creating a product roadmap
  • Measure, analyze, and report on key product metrics such as adoption, engagement, and retention
  • Project manage the new feature delivery, write product requirements
  • Collaborate with other Product Analysts and Managers to share best practices and expand the culture of Product Management


What we are looking for

Required attributes:
  • Bachelor's degree from a leading university and evidence of strong academic performance in a quantitative subject
  • Experience with at least one programming language, e.g. Python, R, etc.
  • The ability to collect, analyze, and interpret complex quantitative data and information
  • Strong interest in energy and power markets
  • Evidence of strong performance in team-oriented environments
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt your communication style for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Self-starter with strong ownership: take initiative, stay on top of priorities without prompting, and consistently deliver on deadlines
