Full Job Description

We're looking for a Senior Product Analyst to join the North America Squad in Austin.

The North American market is Wise's biggest opportunity, but it also presents our most complex regulatory and operational landscape. To scale 10x, we must balance product growth with airtight compliance and risk management.

The Role:

You will be the analytical anchor for North American Risk, Controls, and KYC/verification efforts. Your focus will be on optimizing controls, enhancing KYC processes, launching new automations, managing remediation, and reducing onboarding risk. You will shape our strategy and design data infrastructure to ensure safe, compliant, and frictionless customer onboarding. Partnering with Product, Compliance, and Engineering, you'll navigate the complex US and Canadian regulatory landscape.

Qualifications

What you'll be doing:
  • Optimize & Launch North American KYC & Controls: You will analyze, refine, and implement new KYC and Controls for US and Canadian customers. Partnering with Product, Compliance, Operations, and Engineering teams, you will balance customer experience with robust financial crime prevention, enhancing efficiency and ensuring we stay ahead of emerging risks.
  • Execute Remediation & Repapering Campaigns: You will lead critical remediation campaigns and repapering efforts designed to uplift KYC standards for existing North American customers. This will involve cross-functional partnership with Compliance, Operations, and Product teams to manage these initiatives from strategy through to execution, ensuring compliance and enhancing the integrity of our customer base.
  • Architect Regional Controls Data & Infrastructure: You will build and maintain the robust, scalable infrastructure for our North American controls and KYC initiatives (with dBT/ Snowflake). You will partner with Engineering and cross-regional data teams to enable advanced analytics and automation, moving towards automated decision-making.
  • Reduce North American Onboarding Risk: You will strategically identify and implement solutions to reduce onboarding risk across US and Canadian markets, working hand-in-hand with Product, Compliance, and Banking teams. You will analyze where we need to tighten controls to stop bad actors at the gate, contributing to a safer and more compliant ecosystem.
  • Drive Strategy with Data & KPIs: You will lead the setting of Controls and KYC KPIs for the North American market, collaborating with Product and Compliance stakeholders. You will challenge Product and Compliance teams if a control is ineffective or if a product launch carries unmeasured risk, leveraging data to derive actionable insights and enable stakeholders to self-serve information.

Additional Information

What you'll bring:
  • Technical Skills: 2+ years experience in analytical roles. You are proficient with SQL and know your way around data pipeline management tools such as Snowflake, dbt, Git, Airflow, and Python. All analysts at Wise are expected to be full-stack and comfortable owning analytics from ingestion to insights.
  • Risk/Fincrime Domain Knowledge: You have specific experience managing trade-off between risk and growth. You understand how to detect unusual patterns of usage.
  • Strategic Thinking: You can look at a complex web of requirements and constraints and identify the most critical data points needed to solve a problem. You prioritize the "must-haves" that keep the business running.
  • Influence: You are comfortable explaining complex data to non-technical stakeholders (e.g., Product Compliance, External Partners). You can articulate why a specific risk model is performing the way it is and build conviction on the next steps.
  • Ownership: You are solution-oriented and able to own projects from start to finish. You proactively identify bottlenecks in our risk controls and drive the remediation process.

Nice to have but not essential:
  • Experience working with US Partner Banks or Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) models.
  • Familiarity with verification/ KYC, and controls space.
  • Familiarity with US payment rails (ACH, Wires, RTP) and their specific fraud profiles.
  • Experience in a high-growth Fintech environment.
