The Role We Want You For
The Senior Process Engineer will work with in-house Development, Architecture, and Construction teams to provide Process Engineering/Design and Quality Assurance on projects for our nationwide clients.
The Specifics of the Role
• Provide / lead engineering design in accordance with applicable industry codes and standards for all phases of the process and utility enginele We Want You Forering work.
• Scope out projects and establish a design basis, budget, and schedule.
• Create process flow diagrams (PFD's), generate material balances, create piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID's).
• Generate equipment datasheets and mechanical equipment specifications for purchasing process equipment.
• Interpret and discuss plant operating data with clients to improve process designs. Designs commonly progress with limited information, requiring engineering judgment and listing assumptions to effectively communicate progress/ risk to the client.
• Evaluate process safety and design safety equipment to ensure safety of personnel and the clients' assets.
• Use and develop internal tools and process engineering software such as AFT Fathom, AFT Arrow, or HTRI to complete required scopes of work.
• Act as technical SME and quality control reviewer for process design related tasks.
• Ability to utilize ASME and API codes for design of vessels and piping.
Requirements
• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from an ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited university or college
• Minimum 8-10 years of process chemical engineering experience, preferably in a design firm setting
• PE License preferred to seal engineering documents, with the ability to attain licenses in multiple states
• Experience working on large capital projects for clients in various industries
• Knowledgeable with computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Operations, process start-up, or construction experience preferred
• Prior experience in a process development role for developing new processes and products is preferred
• Experience in process safety and conducting process hazards analysis (PHA's) and hazard and operability studies (HAZOP's) preferred
• Ability to communicate and deliver in a fast-paced environment
