Quanex is looking for a Sr. Planning and Logistics Manager to join our team located onsite in St. Cloud, MN.

Are you a strategic supply chain leader who thrives on turning customer demand into efficient, reliable operations? As a Sr. Planning and Logistics Manager, you'll lead the planning and logistics strategy that connects production, materials, inventory, and freight across Quanex Custom Components operations. You'll have the opportunity to influence business performance by optimizing inventory, strengthening production planning, managing transportation costs, and leveraging ERP data to drive smarter decisions. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who enjoys solving complex challenges, collaborating across functions, and making a measurable difference in manufacturing and customer satisfaction.

Salary: $115,000-$135,000 annually, with bonus potential. Starting salary varies based on your experience.

Work Hours: On-site, Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, hours may vary depending on business needs.

What Success Looks Like:
  • Responsible for the creation of the rough-cut capacity plan for Rough Mills feeding assembly plants. Establishes understanding of where excess or capacity gaps in the current plan.
  • Maintains planning parameters ensuring completeness and accuracy for planning purposes.
  • Provides focus on inventory at-risk and flags the impact of decisions to leadership and drives continuous improvement.
  • Provides analytical support for procurement based on operational KPIs to help assess vendor performance, e.g. average incoming board width, yield by vendor, using new tools from Tally Master and Aiken Controls.
  • Create demand schedules based on the incoming product mix to provide accurate commitment dates to customer service across all product lines. Analyze and balance the demand on capacity by performing weekly capacity planning and monitoring customer orders.
  • Provide input to the Finance Team on operating plans for the S&OP process concerning incoming volume, capacity, and line/tooling uptime and downtime to improve FG inventory turns
  • Drives the development of metrics designed to measure the effectiveness of programs and policies and improves material utilization tracking to eliminate variances.

Your Credentials:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred and/or combination of education and experience.
  • 7 + years (Operations, Supply Chain, Production) with minimum of 5 years of people leadership experience.
  • Able to extract data from Sequel tables and integrate meaningful data presentations.
  • Demonstrated statistical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with key business functions such production facilities, throughout efficiencies and financial impact.
  • Superior skills in using MS Office; intermediate proficiency with Excel.
  • Experience in performing analysis and report generation required to support management and decision-making activities.
