Job Overview

Join our team in Aiken, SC. As a Senior Planner, you will be responsible for the timely planning and procurement of materials, supplies, and equipment required to support the master production schedule and meet customer requirements. This role optimizes inventory levels within assigned areas while ensuring materials are procured to quality specifications at the best possible value. The Planner also works closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to expedite deliveries, clarify specifications, and coordinate planning and scheduling activities to maintain efficient operations and on-time performance. This is an onsite position.

A Day In The Life

Every day at Hubbell is different and you'll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you'll make a difference by:
  • Research sources of supply and alternative materials, document competitive quoting, review and process purchase requisitions for materials and supplies.
  • Follow up on back orders of manufactured and procured materials, expedite delivery of orders, make special arrangements for delivery as needed, and communicate to the respective departments the expected delivery dates and potential shortages
  • Plan the manufacture of all products through the production facility in accordance with assembly procedures and standard times. Release production orders in the required time frame.
  • Ensure purchasing and planning documents are processed in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Update SAP data as needed and work with vendor and/or accounting to reconcile PO discrepancies.
  • Have knowledge of inventory procedures in establishing and maintaining reorder points, reorder quantities and lead-times.
  • Conduct or direct negotiations with vendors on rejections, disposition, and adjustment of non-conforming materials.
  • Promote and maintain good business relationships with suppliers.

Recommend procedures to improve quality and reduce costs, as well as keep informed of new developments in related commodities. Share updates with the Materials department. Support plant-wide Safety initiatives
