What You'll Be DoingThe Senior Packaging Equipment Engineer leads and directs all activities to optimize filling-line performance and drives continuous improvement plans. The Senior Packaging Equipment Engineer acts as project manager from ideation through full validation in production, meeting customer and business requirements. The Senior Packaging Equipment Engineer understands and implements written procedures in accordance with cGMP and other governmental regulations. He/she plays a key role in equipment selection for new projects and cost savings initiatives as well as actively lead process control and total productive maintenance strategies.
- Identifies and drives continuous improvements throughout filling and packaging operations.
- Develops and implements processes and systems to measure line performance and prioritize improvement areas to reduce downtime and improve quality and throughput.
- Manages the development and implementation of equipment for new products, processes, and capacity expansion plans.
- Provides expertise in customer communication relating to products and processes.
- Leads capital projects including competitive bidding, FAT, and installation. Provides costing estimates & timelines for projects and products.
- Implement, track, and reports on improvement projects using standard systems
- Provides mentoring and guidance to others within the Engineering & Maintenance organization.
- Leads equipment and process qualification activities for new equipment and processes.
- Enables Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)activities through implementation of supporting engineering initiatives.
- Leads kaizen and other continuous improvement events, improving operational standards and building people capability
- Provides training materials to line leads, operators, and mechanics as needed in key SOPs and improvement methodologies.
- Supports Health, Safety & Environmental programs, and cGMP initiatives.
What We Need from You:
- Bachelor's in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with bottling and filling equipment. - fillers, cappers, unscramblers (sorters)
- Quoting new equipment
- Troubleshooting equipment issues
- Setting and adjusting equipment parameters
- Continuous improvement
- AutoCAD - creating and maintaining line layouts
- Contractor management
- Efficiency improvement
