Senior Oracle EBS Functional SME
Location- Washington, DC (Hybrid)

The Senior Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Functional SME is responsible for leading solution design, functional configuration, testing, and production support across Oracle EBS Release 12 versions, This role partners closely with business stakeholders in Finance, Procurement, and Operations to deliver scalable, compliant, and efficient solutions across modules such as AP, AR, GL, PO, iProcurement, FA, CE, PA, and SLA. The Functional SME brings deep subject-matter expertise in Oracle EBS business processes, cross-module integrations, and functional design approaches, while collaborating with technical teams for RICEW object delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Functional Solution Design & Configuration

  • Functional Design Leadership - Lead requirements gathering, gap analysis, CRPs, and creation of BRDs/MD50 inputs.

  • Module Configuration - Configure AP, AR, GL, PO, FA, CE, PA, iProcurement, and SLA in alignment with financial controls and audit requirements.

  • Cross Module Flow Governance - Define and validate P2P, O2C, B2R, FA-GL, PA-GL, and SLA accounting flows.
RICEW Collaboration & Support

  • Functional-Technical Partnership - Partner with technical teams to guide requirements, validate designs, and ensure governance alignment.

  • RICEW Testing - Conduct functional validation and testing of RICEW objects prior to patching and migration cycles.
Testing & Release Management

  • UAT Leadership - Lead UAT cycles, create test scripts, coordinate execution, triage defects, and secure stakeholder sign-off.

  • Release & Patch Support - Support major releases, quarterly patching, and upgrades aligned with instance management practices.

  • Functional Impact Validation - Validate functional impacts from patches and assist with production readiness checkpoints.
Production Support & Issue Resolution

  • Functional Escalation Point - Serve as escalation for complex functional issues across subledgers, SLA, and integrations.

  • Workflow & AME Troubleshooting - Troubleshoot workflow routing, approval hierarchies, AME rules, and accounting events.

  • Master Data Governance - Maintain supplier, customer, asset, project, and banking master data.
Compliance, Controls & Documentation

  • Controls & Audit Alignment - Ensure solutions adhere to internal controls, audit requirements, and SOD standards.

  • Documentation Ownership - Maintain SOPs, functional documentation, configuration trackers, and training materials.

  • Finance Reconciliation Support - Support reconciliation activities and partner with Finance to ensure data accuracy.
Stakeholder Engagement

  • Business Liaison - Act as primary liaison among Finance, Procurement, Operations, and IT.

  • Requirements Translation - Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable functional requirements.

  • Governance & Roadmap Support - Support governance boards, roadmap planning, and process improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience

  • EBS Functional Expertise - 8+ years EBS functional experience; 3-5 years on R12.2.x (specifically 12.2.12).

  • Multi?Module Mastery - Deep functional knowledge across AP, AR, GL, PO, FA, CE, PA, iProcurement, and SLA.

  • Accounting & Procurement Knowledge - Strong understanding of accounting principles, procurement rules, and enterprise financial flows.

  • Functional Documentation - Proven ability to write BRDs, MD50 inputs, test scripts, and configuration workbooks.

  • Patch & Upgrade Experience - Experience driving patching, upgrades, and production cutovers.

  • Integration Familiarity - Familiarity with OIC-based integrations and interface-driven workflows.

  • Stakeholder Management - Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Compliance & SOD Experience - Experience supporting organizations with strict compliance, audit, and SOD governance.

  • OCI EBS Exposure - Exposure to OCI hosted EBS environments.

  • ERP Modernization Experience - Prior involvement in ERP modernization or large scale transformation programs.

Position Details:

  • Pay Rate / Range:$80-$90/hr


The above salary range represents the range expected for the position; however, final salary offers are based on a number of factors such as the position's responsibilities; the candidate's experience, education, and skills; location; travel required; and current market conditions.
