Job Description:Johnson & Johnson Vision is recruiting a Senior Operations Manager for its manufacturing site in Jacksonville, Florida.

In this highly visible leadership role, you will shape the operating strategy, lead supervisors and cross-functional teams, and drive safe, compliant, and reliable execution across safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, and compliance. You will oversee production planning and performance by optimizing labor, equipment, materials, inventory, and capacity, while fostering continuous improvement, developing talent, and supporting new-product initiatives.
Key responsibilities- Lead process and support teams to achieve quality, delivery, cost, people, and environmental, health, and safety (EHS) objectives.
- Develop capacity, staffing, and process continuity plans to sustain operations and support business needs.
- Manage budgets and headcount, and lead all aspects of equipment, maintenance, safety, and operational readiness to prevent production or shipping disruptions.
- Maintain effective quality-control systems and ensure compliance with company procedures and applicable QSR, ISO, and FDA requirements.
- Build workforce capability through required training, team development, employee engagement, job enrichment, recognition, and challenging assignments.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen, to simplify work, eliminate non-value-added activities, and reduce costs.
- Support and lead key new-product initiatives.
- Partner with internal and external Supply Chain stakeholders through the S&OP process.
- Ensure employees understand product and process defects associated with their roles, including verification and validation activities.
- Promote and enforce environmental, safety, and industrial hygiene requirements, including ISO 14001; promptly report deviations and ensure team compliance.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, operations management, supply chain, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience leading productivity, operational excellence, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- 10+ years of progressive manufacturing or operations experience, including 5+ years in people management or operations leadership within a regulated environment.
- Experience working in the medical device industry or pharmaceutical required.
- Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
- Working knowledge of GMP and quality and regulatory requirements for regulated manufacturing.
- Strong expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other performance optimization methodologies.
- Deep knowledge of medical device regulatory requirements (FDA QSR, ISO 13485, EU MDR).
Other:- Up to 50% travel in the first 6-9 months.
