Engineering Specialist

LOCATION: Sault Ste Marie - Ontario - Canada

DEPARTMENT: ENGINEERING

Role

The Engineering Specialist applies technologies in their speciality to develop & support basic engineering and project management execution, ensuring compliance with Tenaris policies and standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Design calculations related to piping and mechanical system design.
  • Production of AutoCAD and/or 3D modeling of mechanical drawings.
  • Development and editing of mechanical specifications, process diagrams for piping and mechanical systems.
  • Reviewing piping and mechanical drawings for completeness and coordination with other disciplines.
  • Onsite investigation of existing systems for coordination and design.
  • Responsible for small capital expenditure project improvements, upgrades, and expansions.
  • Hands on layout design, engineering and project management and implementation.
  • Modifying equipment: material handling equipment, hydraulic systems.
  • Lead Failure Analysis meetings.
  • Complies with Tenaris policies, procedures and management standards, and ensures adherence with all laws and regulations that apply to the area of responsibility.
  • Protects from damage, theft or misuse the facilities, equipment and other physical resources assigned to their area.


Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years experience in similar Engineering role.
  • Minimum 5 years experience working in steel manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
  • Applicant must be able to read mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Applicant must be familiar with manufacturing environment safety procedures.
  • Previous experience with SAP considered an asset.
  • Previous experience with Project Management considered an asset.
  • Previous experience 3D modeling considered as an asset.


Schedule & Working Conditions:
  • 8hr Days - with flexibility based on business needs.
  • Work is performed in a steel manufacturing mill.


Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $69,000.00 - $129,000.00 annually.

Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on factors such as the candidate's experience, education, skills, and qualifications, as well as internal equity and market considerations.
