Torch Technologies is seeking a
Senior Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Software Engineer to lead development, integration, execution, and analysis of real-time simulations in support of Army Integrated Air and Missile Defense (AIAMD) systems. The successful candidate will be a significant contributor to the technical effort while also leading a small team--planning resources and schedule to accomplish customer objectives. This position is located on Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama.
Job Responsibilities:- This job entails development, integration, execution, & analysis of real-time M&S products to support the U.S. Army in various lab and range venues including all-digital and Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) venues.
- The successful candidate will design & develop simulations using tactical and simulation communication protocols.
- The candidate will integrate simulation and tactical software changes into real-time simulations.
- The candidate will track and resolve bugs, issues, and new capabilities.
- The candidate will support integration, execution, debugging, and analysis in various venues including OEM facilities, government lab facilities, and test ranges.
- The ideal candidate will maintain subject matter expertise in real-time M&S, AIAMD fire control, AIAMD interceptors, and AIAMD sensors/uplinkers. The successful candidate will plan and prioritize resources and schedule for the team.
- Develop Virtual Engagement (VE) and other real-time simulations.
- Integrate already-existing fire control, missile, C2 code bases into real-time simulations, and integrate these into larger system-of-system integrations.
- Track, debug, and resolve bugs, issues, new requirements, updates, and other changes.
- Plan, set priorities, and coordinate team resources.
- Design, implement, test, and maintain real-time software simulation models in C++ and FORTRAN.
- Travel to support the integration, operation, and analysis of real-time simulation models into Flight Test environments.
- Develop pre- and post-processing tools in MATLAB/python to better work with and analyze the simulation inputs and outputs.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members.
Job Requirements:- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, a related field or equivalent experience.
- 8 or more years of applicable progressively complex software design engineering experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Experience leading technical teams and facilitating teamwork.
- Significant experience with some or all of the following:
- Modeling and Simulation
- Realtime processing
- 6DOF interceptor modeling
- Patriot interceptors
- AIAMD fire control
- AIAMD sensors/uplinkers
- Proficiency in C++, FORTRAN, Python, and MATLAB.
- Familiarity with Python data science and plotting libraries (pandas, numpy, matplotlib.
- Experience with build and meta-build systems such as Make and Meson.
- Proficiency with Perforce, Gitlab and software configuration management best practices.
- Familiarity with continuous integration tools and practices.
- Experience supporting Test and Evaluation (T&E), including pre-flight and ground testing activities.
- Analysis of simulation and live mission data.
- Ability to read and understand design documents and Interface Control Diagrams (ICDs).
- Ada experience also desired.
- Must have an active secret clearance.
