Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Microsoft SharePoint Engineer with strong Microsoft 365 experience to lead the design, administration, optimization, and support of modern SharePoint Online solutions. This role is responsible for building scalable collaboration environments, improving information architecture and governance, and enabling secure, effective use of Microsoft 365 services across the enterprise.

The ideal candidate combines deep SharePoint Online administration and engineering expertise with a broad understanding of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform, Entra ID, Purview, and related compliance and collaboration capabilities. This person should be comfortable partnering with business stakeholders, IT teams, and platform owners to deliver reliable, user-friendly solutions that improve productivity and content management at scale.
Key Responsibilities
SharePoint Online Engineering and Administration
  • Design, configure, administer, and enhance SharePoint Online sites, hubs, document libraries, lists, pages, permissions models, and content structures
  • Lead the planning and implementation of SharePoint Online solutions for collaboration, document management, intranet publishing, and business process enablement
  • Define and maintain SharePoint information architecture, taxonomy, metadata strategy, navigation, search optimization, and content lifecycle practices
  • Develop and maintain governance standards for site provisioning, ownership, permissions, retention, external sharing, and content organization
  • Troubleshoot complex SharePoint Online issues related to access, performance, configuration, integrations, content discovery, and user experience
  • Support tenant-level administration activities and evaluate platform changes, new features, and release impacts
Microsoft 365 Platform Support
  • Partner with Microsoft 365 platform teams to align SharePoint solutions with Teams, OneDrive, Power Automate, Power Apps, Microsoft Lists, and other M365 services
  • Support collaboration patterns that span SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive, including file storage, site associations, permissions, and lifecycle management
  • Help define and implement M365 governance, security, and compliance practices in coordination with infrastructure, security, and legal teams
  • Contribute to platform roadmaps, standards, and operational processes for Microsoft 365 collaboration services
  • Assess opportunities to improve automation, self-service, and adoption across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem
Solution Delivery and Stakeholder Partnership
  • Translate business requirements into scalable SharePoint and M365 solutions using sound technical and governance principles
  • Serve as a technical advisor to stakeholders on best practices for collaboration, document management, records handling, and secure information sharing
  • Lead or support migrations from legacy file shares, classic SharePoint environments, or third-party content repositories into SharePoint Online
  • Create technical documentation, support models, standards, and operating procedures
  • Mentor junior administrators or engineers and provide guidance on platform design and support practices
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience administering and engineering Microsoft SharePoint environments, with strong hands-on experience in SharePoint Online
  • 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft 365 collaboration technologies
  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint Online architecture, permissions, hub sites, site templates, document management, metadata, search, and governance
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and integration points across the M365 collaboration stack
  • Experience with PowerShell automation for SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 administration
  • Strong understanding of identity, access management, and security concepts in Microsoft 365, including Entra ID and conditional access considerations
  • Experience supporting content migrations, restructuring efforts, or collaboration platform modernization initiatives
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Power Platform, including Power Automate, Power Apps, and Microsoft Lists
  • Experience with Microsoft Purview, retention, records management, data classification, or eDiscovery-related capabilities
  • Familiarity with SharePoint Framework, API-based integrations, or lightweight custom solution design
  • Experience in enterprise collaboration governance, adoption strategy, or digital workplace transformation
  • Microsoft certifications related to Microsoft 365, SharePoint, security, or Power Platform
  • Experience working in large, matrixed enterprise environments
