About the role:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will develop and support nuclear power plant design modifications, engineering evaluations, and technical issue resolution by collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams on Balance of Plant (BOP) systems for operating plants, power uprates, and advanced nuclear technologies

You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager of Nuclear Plant Mechanical Engineering and be located at our Rockhill, SC facility. The hybrid position is based at our Rock Hill, SC office which involves a mix of on-site and remote days, typically within the same week. Please note that relocation assistance is not provided for this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop design change packages following the Standard Design Process and other plant-specific design change processes for US and international nuclear power plants.
  • Help develop engineering reports for US power uprates (i.e., system and program evaluations), in the Balance of Plant (BOP) area.
  • Resolve technical issues for operating nuclear power plants (main scope), with potential involvement in new plants and other nuclear projects (e.g., fuel fabrication facilities).
  • Work with a multi-discipline team of engineers in the design, analysis, and evaluation of systems and programs, including support to lead engineers, in the BOP area.
  • Apply engineering principles and engineering codes & standards, such as ASME and ANSI, to the design, analysis, and evaluation of systems.
  • Work with engineers in other disciplines such as electrical and civil/structural.
  • Participate on project teams with internal and external representation
  • Participate in customer and vendor meetings to present technical materials and justification of services and product designs.
  • Perform work within established scope, budgetary and schedule requirements.
  • Identify and help develop new business opportunities, as available.
  • Mentor more junior engineers.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical (preferred), Civil, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Power industry (e.g., nuclear power plant) experience.
  • Ability to work in an international team environment.
  • Ability to travel for site visits, short-term, or long-term assignments.

Beneficial:
  • Engineering in Training (EIT) license.
  • Professional Engineer license (in any state) or ability to obtain within 5 years of onboarding.
  • Proficiency on other languages


We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $85,200 to $106,500 per year.
