Indotronix is seeking an :Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location:Maple Grove, MN
Work Schedule: 9/80
Hybrid work schedule (Minimum of 3 days on site per week
Tuesday and Wed are mandatory on-site. Monday or Thursday option for 3rd on-site day.

Job Description

The Mechanical Design Engineer researches, plans, analyzes, designs, and develops mechanical products including ammunition handling systems, structures, gun systems, missile launchers, mechanisms, and other defense-related equipment. The role is responsible for performing engineering analysis, testing, evaluation, and product development activities to ensure compliance with engineering standards, military specifications, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research, design, develop, and analyze mechanical products, assemblies, structures, and mechanisms.
  • Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using PTC Creo Parametric 11.
  • Perform technical analysis, testing, and evaluation of moderately complex engineering problems using engineering tools and software.
  • Analyze and interpret design specifications, drawings, documents, models, and test results to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
  • Develop, revise, and maintain technical documentation, engineering reports, presentations, and product records.
  • Support engineering design, development, experimentation, testing, and product assurance activities.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams, suppliers, customers, and project stakeholders to support product development and production.
  • Provide technical input for project plans, schedules, budgets, and engineering reviews.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends, engineering technologies, standards, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, quality requirements, and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant engineering experience, or a Master's degree with 2 years of related experience.
  • Experience creating moderately complex solid models and mechanical designs using CAD software, preferably PTC Creo/Pro-E.
  • Strong mechanical design, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing and production of engineered products.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with military and commercial engineering design standards.
  • Experience working in a military or defense product manufacturing environment.
  • Experience developing precision assembly tooling.
  • Good understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5-2009 / Y14.5-2018).
  • Experience performing Tolerance Stack Analysis.
  • 2+ years of experience with Creo modeling and drawing generation.
  • Experience with Windchill or similar EPDM/PDM systems.
  • Familiarity with engineering software applications and emerging technologies.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience, or
  • Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
