Full Job Description
Overview

In this role, you will design and sustain Mitel products. You will partner with cross functional teams such as overseas teams, suppliers and multi discipline teams closely in different time zones.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze root causes and improve product failures in a timely manner.
  • Drive suppliers given limited time and cost.
  • Analyze design trade-off
  • Support tooling review and production ramp up
  • Maintain CAD data, BOMs and drawings in PDM system.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines
  • Work closely with cross functional teams in different time zones.
  • Deliver the required work on schedule


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or other equivalent engineering degrees.
  • Hands-on design experience : 5~7 years (Injection molding part design experience highly preferred, sheet metal, compression molding).
  • Mechanical PCB layout design, common features.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Self-starter.
  • Strong understanding of mass production and consumer products.
  • Solid understanding of design for manufacturing, cost and automation line.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing process(injection molding, sheet metal, compression molding, CNC and etc).
  • Solid understanding of product development cycle from concept to mass production.
  • Solid understanding of tolerances and GD&T.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical components and PCB design.
  • Experience in tolerance analysis is a big plus.
  • Hands-on Prototype fabrication experience.(3D printing/debugging).
  • Experience working with external suppliers for prototyping, tooling, part manufacturing and EMS.
  • Experience working with cross functional teams.(HW, ID, manufacturing team)
  • Modeling skills : Pro-e Creo + 3 years (solid modeling, assembly, 2D drawing, Surface modeling is a big plus. Top-down modeling is a plus).
  • Agile PLM experience is a plus.
  • Thermal simulation skill is a plus.
