Our client, a well-established and growing mechanical contractor, is seeking aSenior Mechanical Designerto join their team in the Greater Vancouver area.

This organization provides integrated mechanical design, engineering, construction, service, and maintenance solutions across a diverse portfolio of commercial, institutional, healthcare, industrial, and multi-residential projects. They are known for delivering high-quality mechanical systems through a collaborative, design-build approach.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanical designer who enjoys working closely with project managers, engineers, field teams, and clients while contributing to projects from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial, institutional, healthcare, industrial, and multi-residential projects.
  • Develop detailed AutoCAD and Revit MEP models and construction drawings.
  • Support projects through all phases of design and construction.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, consultants, and site teams.
  • Review designs for constructability, system performance, coordination, and code compliance.
  • Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and project execution.
  • Participate in BIM coordination and multidisciplinary project meetings.
  • Assist with equipment selection, system layouts, and mechanical design calculations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and design best practices.
  • Manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy, quality, and deadlines.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC and plumbing system design.
  • Strong proficiency with Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
  • Experience working on commercial, institutional, healthcare, industrial, or multi-family residential projects.
  • Sound understanding of mechanical building systems and construction practices.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree, Diploma, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience working within a design-build or mechanical contracting environment.
  • Knowledge of BC Building Code, Plumbing Code, and applicable HVAC standards.
  • Experience supporting projects throughout construction and commissioning phases.
  • BIM coordination experience is considered an asset.
