We're partnering with a growing construction company that is looking for its first dedicated finance leader. This is a unique opportunity to step into a newly created role where you'll work directly alongside the owner, build financial processes, improve reporting, and become a trusted business partner as the company continues to grow.

This is a fully in-office position in NE Calgary.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Take ownership of the company's day-to-day finance function, including AP, AR, payroll, GST, reconciliations, and month-end activities.
  • Prepare accurate monthly and quarterly financial reporting that provides meaningful insights to leadership.
  • Monitor cash flow, forecasts, project profitability, and key business metrics.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting that help leadership make informed business decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability, operational efficiencies, and financial processes.
  • Partner closely with the owner, providing proactive recommendations and financial guidance.
  • Work with external accounting partners to support year-end financial statements and tax requirements.
  • Build scalable systems, reporting, and financial controls as the business continues to grow.
  • Support project teams with job costing, WIP reporting, construction billing, and financial analysis.
What We're Looking For
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • A degree in Accounting or Finance is an asset.
  • 1-2+ years of construction accounting experience with a solid understanding of job costing and project-based accounting.
  • Experience preparing financial reports, cash flow analysis, budgeting, and business performance metrics.
  • Comfortable managing both day-to-day accounting responsibilities and higher-level financial analysis.
