Full Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Construction Administration Lead to join our South team. This role will play a critical part in delivering some of the most impactful projects in the area. You will be a key member of our engineering design and construction administration team, as well as our industry leading commissioning team, helping ensure design quality, multidisciplinary coordination, and team member alignment.

This role can sit in Houston, Dallas, or Austin*

  • CommonSpirit Health - McNair Hospital Expansion
  • MD Anderson - 1 Patient Care Building
  • Houston Airport System - Central Utility Plant

The Opportunity
  • Lead construction administration on major projects across sectors including healthcare, science, higher education, transportation, and commercial.
  • Provide multi-disciplinary CA support by coordinating timely and consistent responses to RFIs, submittals, inspection reports, and construction schedules.
  • Conduct in-house design reviews and supply constructability feedback to design teams; support BIM processes and identify coordination opportunities.
  • Build and distribute standard methodologies for a diverse CA team, emphasizing mentorship, growth, and digital tools.
  • Represent Arup in OAC/CA meetings; collaborate closely with subcontractors and stakeholders to address site constraints and facilitate design coordination.
  • Manage client relationships during the construction and post-occupancy phase and lead new project opportunities with the business leader during post-occupancy
  • Support commissioning activities and provide measurement and verification services as needed.
  • Coordinate internal CA meetings to review deliverables and schedule forecasts; coordinate staffing based on construction progress.
  • Drive teamwork across Arup offices to ensure alignment with design standards and regional delivery practices.
  • Manage all aspects of work for Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), including achievement and acceptance testing coordination.

Is this role right for you?

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in the U.S.
  • PE license or commissioning qualification (e.g., CCP, CxA, BCxP)

Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Houston is $129,100 to $161,450 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Houston will differ.
