The Company operates in a dynamic and highly regulated environment that is subject to evolving market rules, tariff requirements, regulatory developments, and market conduct expectations across multiple jurisdictions and organized markets.

Under the general supervision of the Senior Market Compliance Analyst (Natural Gas, LNG, and Dry Bulk), this role supports the monitoring of external market developments and the surveillance of internal transactions and communications to help ensure compliance with applicable market rules and regulations. Activities

  • Translate regulatory and compliance requirements into quantitative surveillance scenarios and analytical controls designed to detect potentially non-compliant trading behavior.
  • Design, test, implement, and refine surveillance reports and detection scenarios to identify anomalous trading patterns, deviations from historical behavior, and potential market manipulation indicators.
  • Support new product and business activity reviews by assessing compliance risks and performing testing from a market compliance perspective.
  • Collaborate with Trading, Risk, Operations, Legal, Operational Compliance, and other control functions to ensure adherence to regulatory and internal compliance requirements.
  • Prepare and provide data, analyses, and documentation for internal reporting, audits, regulatory filings, inquiries, and investigations.
  • Maintain market rules, enforcement action, and regulatory knowledge bases for Natural Gas and LNG markets; publish periodic compliance alerts and regulatory updates for business stakeholders.
  • Regularly report on emerging compliance risks, regulatory developments, and surveillance findings to management and relevant stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience within an energy trading organization, including at least two (2) years in Market Compliance, Trading Compliance, Market Surveillance, Trading Surveillance, or a related function.
