JOB SUMMARY:
The Sr. Manufacturing Planner plays an integral role at Pro-Dex, overseeing material flow across the entire supply chain rom raw materials through finished goods delivery. This position leads the strategic coordination of production schedules, inventory management, and supply chain operations to drive manufacturing efficiency. By leveraging advanced planning tools and systems, the Sr. Manufacturing Planner ensures seamless production flow, optimizes resource utilization, and meets customer demand.The role includes full ownership of assigned product categories and responsibility for all phases of planning and purchasing related to internal and external manufacturing operations. Key responsibilities include demand planning, work order and purchase order release, expediting, prioritization, and coordination of material availability to support production and customer requirements.
JOB DUTIES:
• Strong hands-on experience and knowledge using MRP/ERP systems to plan, release job orders, determine and prioritize production/sales demand for the assigned components and subassemblies.
• Drive strategic initiatives and implement best practices including managing day-to-day demand planning and prioritization. Adjust production schedules based on customer demand, capacity, and lead times to respond quickly to material shortages, supplier delays, machine downtime, or urgent customer orders.
• Develop production plans based on demand forecasts, material availability, and capacity constraints.
• Solid understanding of machine capacity, labor constraints, and workflow to align production schedules with actual shop capabilities.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials (BOMs) to ensure accurate purchasing and planning.
• Create and release job orders and purchase orders for external processes.
• Identify and resolve supply chain issues by collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing, and external suppliers.
• Manage and monitor the status of open job orders and purchase orders.
• Monitor and adjust production schedules in real time in response to supply variability or operational changes.
• Optimize inventory levels across all product categories to support production efficiency and customer fulfillment.
• Demonstrated ability to source materials, negotiate pricing, manage supplier relationships, and track vendor performance (on-time delivery, quality, and cost), including identifying and qualifying alternative vendors and material sources.
• Follow up on received materials through inspection and ensure proper stocking.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Solid understanding of machine capacity, labor constraints, and workflow to align production schedules with actual shop capabilities.
• Strong computer and mathematical skills.
• Knowledge of material planning requirements with the ability to execute effectively.
• Proven ability to manage the full value chain from start to finish, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve on-time delivery under strict quality standards
• Experience with M2M or similar ERP systems preferred.
• Proficiency in PC applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as manufacturing data systems.
• Thorough understanding of planning and purchasing processes.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented, new product development environment.
• Demonstrated willingness to take on significant responsibility across supply chain, logistics, engineering, and material planning functions, with a strong focus on speed and accuracy.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree in business administration; CPIM certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of purchasing and/or planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Six Sigma principles.
Pay Range: $85,000 - $95,000 per hour
