Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description:

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for identifying, developing, validating, and deploying manufacturing technologies, automation solutions, and standardized processes that improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and scalability across the enterprise.

This role is part of the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) organization and focuses on designing the future state of manufacturing rather than providing routine daily production support. The position works across multiple facilities to evaluate opportunities, develop business cases, mature technologies, reduce labor content, improve manufacturing capacity, and deploy repeatable solutions that can be standardized throughout the organization.

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer serves as a technical leader for manufacturing technology initiatives and collaborates with Product Engineering, Operations, Site Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Information Technology, and external technology partners to ensure solutions deliver measurable business results and are sustainable long after deployment.

We are looking for people who believe in our guiding principles and values of:

  • Safety - We believe everyone should leave Trystar facilities in the same or better condition than when they arrived.
  • Integrity - We're honest, transparent, and committed to doing what's right.
  • Customer focus - We have relentless focus on our customers and their success.
  • Right with speed - We use good judgement, make thoughtful decisions quickly, and execute them with purpose and intensity.
  • Play for each other - We're a team. We show up for each other, and we know that through teamwork we achieve greatness.
  • Champion change - We know adaptation and improvement are requirements to survive and to thrive.
  • Enjoy the journey - We create an environment where our team feels appreciated and has fun along the way.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize manufacturing technologies, automation opportunities, and process improvements that reduce labor content, improve capacity, enhance quality, and strengthen safety.
  • Develop business cases and capital investment justifications by quantifying expected labor savings, productivity gains, quality improvements, ergonomic benefits, and financial returns.
  • Lead the development of manufacturing concepts, technical requirements, user requirement specifications (URS), and equipment performance criteria for new manufacturing solutions.
  • Evaluate, mature, and deploy manufacturing technologies including automation, digital manufacturing tools, intelligent tooling, material handling systems, testing solutions, and advanced assembly processes
  • Partner with equipment suppliers, machine builders, integrators, and internal stakeholders to design, validate, and implement scalable manufacturing solutions.
  • Support design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) initiatives that reduce product, component, tooling, fastener, wiring, and process complexity
  • Lead or support manufacturing technology projects through concept development, risk assessment, design review, acceptance testing, commissioning, production ramp-up, and operational handoff.
  • Develop and standardize enterprise manufacturing methods, equipment specifications, automation architectures, and best practices to enable repeatable deployment across multiple facilities.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering, Operations, Site Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, IT/OT, and external partners to align manufacturing solutions with business and operational objectives.
  • Analyze manufacturing data and operational performance to identify improvement opportunities and support data-driven decision making
  • Verify that implemented solutions achieve approved performance targets for safety, quality, labor efficiency, throughput, cost, and return on investment.
  • Document lessons learned, establish replication strategies, and transfer ownership of deployed solutions to site organizations to ensure long-term sustainment and continuous improvement.
