What you will be doing:

The Senior Manager, Wealth Operations & Oversight serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for the Wealth Operations team while leading the operational design and oversight of assigned Tangerine Wealth transformation initiatives. The role is responsible for shaping and building the future-state operating model, translating business, product, operational, and regulatory requirements into detailed processes, procedures, controls, and operational standards.

Working closely with Investment Operations, Product, Digital, Technology, project teams, and control functions, the incumbent will provide operational expertise and guidance in both business-as-usual and transformation activities. The role will support the evolution of Operations by turning emerging concepts into practical, scalable, and well-controlled operating solutions that align with the organization's strategic objectives.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will be:
  • Future-State Operational Design
    • Support the development of the future-state operating model for assigned Wealth capabilities as strategic, product and technology direction is defined.
    • Act as the operations SME for core Wealth operational functions, including onboarding, transfers, trade processing, settlements, cash and securities movements, reconciliations, books and records, and client servicing, ensuring future-state solutions are operationally sound and scalable.
    • Turn emerging concepts into clear end-to-end operational designs covering roles, decision rights, hand-offs, exception paths, information flows and procedures.
    • Use available documentation and subject-matter input selectively to understand relevant constraints.
    • Define the operational capabilities, accountabilities and ways of working required to support the intended client and employee experience.
    • Identify design gaps, dependencies and decisions that must be resolved to make the future model workable and scalable.
    • Facilitate cross-functional working sessions to develop, challenge and align the future-state operational design.
  • Operational Requirements and Process Development
    • Translate business, product, regulatory and technology direction into detailed operational and business requirements.
    • Develop end-to-end process maps, operating procedures, roles and responsibility models, exception handling and escalation paths.
    • Define operational control requirements in partnership with Compliance, Risk, AML/Fraud and accountable business control functions.
    • Establish traceability from approved direction through operational requirements and process designs, and support validation that proposed solutions meet those requirements.
    • Identify opportunities within the future-state design to simplify work, reduce manual activity and improve operational data quality.
    • Partner with Product, Digital and Technology to ensure solution designs reflect operational requirements and are practical within a regulated Wealth environment.
  • Leadership and Partnership
    • Lead cross-functional working sessions, creating alignment on deliverables and driving actions through to completion.
    • Provide the Director, Platform Operations & Oversight and project governance with concise updates on progress, risks, dependencies and decisions requiring escalation.
    • Provide operations leadership and subject-matter guidance to project contributors involved in shaping the future state.
    • Build effective working relationships across Wealth, Tangerine and enterprise partners to support timely design decisions and delivery.

  • A university degree in business, finance, operations, risk, law or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Eight or more years of relevant experience in wealth management operations, operating model design or operational transformation, including experience leading complex workstreams or teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian dealer operations within a CIRO-regulated environment, with direct experience in either a mutual fund dealer or an investment dealer. Experience across both dealer models is an asset.
  • Practical understanding of dealer processes across client and account onboarding, trade processing, transfers, cash and securities movements, reconciliations, books and records, and client servicing.
  • Demonstrated experience translating evolving target-state direction into detailed processes, operational requirements, procedures, controls and accountable hand-offs.
  • Experience developing future-state operating models, process maps, business requirements, responsibility models and operational control designs.
  • The ability to evaluate operational feasibility, identify implementation gaps and develop practical solutions under evolving conditions.
  • Sound judgment, integrity and a client-centric mindset, with the ability to balance delivery requirements with operational and regulatory considerations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, facilitation and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to influence without authority.
  • Bilingual capabilities in English and French are beneficial. Relevant industry or professional designations are an asset. Any CIRO approval or registration requirement will be determined based on the final delegated accountabilities of the role.
