The Senior Manager, Terminals will report to the Senior Director, Terminals & Capital.

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for safe and reliable operations of multiple North American Distribution terminals receiving, storing and shipping activities for products including, but not limited to Dry and Liquid fertilizers
  • Provide support and active engagement for Nutrien's new port development opportunity including contract reviews, equipment and facility design reviews, development of mechanical integrity and maintenance programs, and understanding of the long-term needs for terminal operations, inclusive of working with labor unions, necessary for an operationally efficient and safe facility
  • Provide oversight, consistent with inland facilities, for port facility once operational
  • Provide oversight of existing deepwater terminals including budget preparation, capital planning, and support for 3rd party operators
  • Lead a team of terminal supervisors and operators setting clear expectations consistent with Nutrien's standards for safe and reliable operations
  • Required to gain and maintain an in-depth understanding of terminal operations and process equipment. This includes dry conveyance equipment, portal reclaimers, and all associated control systems
  • Provide leadership in the areas of culture, skill development, continuous improvement, and clear accountability
  • Responsible for ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met at the terminals including stewarding to all Nutrien safety and process safety standards
  • Ensure cost stewardship to budgets supportive of reliable operations and maintenance of the terminals
  • Coordinate with numerous internal stakeholders to ensure effective and timely supply and customer service, including scheduling of terminal maintenance outages
  • Responsible for continuously implementing improvements in equipment, processes, procedures, and safety that have a positive impact on the effectiveness and efficiency of the terminals
  • In collaboration with the terminal capital team, develop capital projects, calendar year plan, and 5-year plan
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving project designs for all capital and terminal projects
  • Support other projects as needed


What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent operations background and experience
  • 10+ years in operations with supervisory experience
  • Experience with large scale construction and capital projects, including planning to commissioning and operations
  • Experience in port facility operations required
  • Experience in overseeing contracted services
  • Experience overseeing rail operations
  • Experience with robust safety, process safety management, and risk management plan programs preferred
  • Experience with SAP, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team context with excellent time management and organization skills
  • Travel Requirement - 40% - 60%


Compensation & Benefits:

The salary range for this role, in Loveland, CO is, between $140,300 - $220,440. The salary range for this role, in Deerfield, IL is, between $133,700 - $209,990. While we provide this range as general guidance, several factors are taken into consideration when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, candidate skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, work location, and other business and organizational needs. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.
