The Role

The Global Cash Management team is seeking a talented and motivated leader to enable predictable, compliant and secure platform across the Global Cash management domains. You will lead first platform capabilities, embed security posture being the primary integration point between technology operations and the delivery teams.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead release planning and coordination across multiple engineering teams to ensure releases are sequenced, dependency-aware, and aligned to agreed timelines.
  • Establish and enforce a consistent release management process, including readiness checkpoints, entry and exit criteria, deployment approvals, and post-release validation.
  • Ensure platform capabilities are consumable, documented and compliant for all the delivery teams.
  • Maintain a platform roadmap that balances feature delivery, reliability and security posture.
  • Partner with engineering, quality engineering, release management, infrastructure, production support, and business stakeholders to confirm release scope, environment readiness, testing completion, and operational preparedness.
  • Ensure teams complete all required release preparations, including implementation plans, rollback procedures, validation steps, support coverage, communication plans, and production readiness checks.
  • Facilitate release readiness reviews and generate consolidated release readiness reports for leadership, highlighting scope, status, risks, dependencies, issues, and recommended actions.
  • Identify cross-team risks and delivery gaps early, drive mitigation plans with accountable owners, and escalate material risks in a timely and clear manner.
  • Coordinate release night activities, including deployment sequencing, command and control communications, issue triage, decision support, and confirmation of successful implementation.
  • Work closely with teams to ensure changes are traceable, auditable, and compliant with internal release, change management, security, and operational control requirements.
  • Track release outcomes, incidents, and lessons learned; lead post-release reviews and recommend process, tooling, and governance improvements to reduce release risk and improve throughput.
  • Maintain release calendars, status dashboards, documentation, and reporting artifacts to provide transparency to engineering leadership and stakeholders.
  • Promote disciplined release practices across teams, including repeatable deployment processes, standard runbooks, release checklists, and continuous improvement of release quality.
  • Champion a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates teams by fostering an inclusive work environment, communicating vison, values, business strategy and managing succession and development planning for your team
  • Ensure platform capabilities are consumable, documented and compliant for all the delivery teams.

  • Lead and coach a team of technology professionals
  • Build and maintain solid, professional, working relationships with peers within the portfolio and business lines
  • Actively identify areas of continuous improvement and conceptualize methods on how to be more efficient
  • Monitor budget forecasts, manage vendor contracts, and validate invoices for vendors along with Collecting metrics and sharing progress towards team objectives.
  • Understand how the Bank risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions conduct risk

What You'll Bring:

Skill/Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in release management, delivery management, DevOps, production change management, engineering operations, or a related technology leadership role.
  • Proven experience coordinating complex software releases across multiple application or platform teams in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, testing lifecycles, environment management, deployment practices, and production support processes.
  • Experience with release governance, risk management, change controls, and executive status reporting.
  • Experience operating in highly controlled environments where stability, auditability, and operational discipline are critical.
  • Banking or financial services experience is strongly preferred, particularly in digital channels, payments, cash management, or regulated platforms.
  • Experience working with Agile delivery teams and modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and release orchestration tools.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, Git-based workflows, and observability or incident monitoring platforms is an asset.
  • ITIL, Agile, Scrum, DevOps, or change/release management certifications are considered an asset.


Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline from a Canadian Accredited institution

  • Multi-country context, clear and culturally- aware communication Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Keep abreast of current and emerging best practices and technologies
  • Strong influencing skills and experience working with senior leadership across business lines
  • Familiarity with Commercial Banking/ Payments processes
