The opportunity

Join our Indirect Tax Technology team as a Senior Manager, Platform Operations Lead Engineer. This is a strategic role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our technology platform, ensuring seamless integration between infrastructure and applications, and driving platform enhancements in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will leverage technical expertise and leadership skills to set architecture standards, coordinate security and release processes, and support ongoing platform evolution.

Your key responsibilities
  • Set and maintain application architecture standards for the platform.
  • Coordinate with Information Security teams during regular releases and security testing.
  • Collaborate with the Architecture Review Board for platform changes.
  • Manage and support platform changes driven by EY and external vendors.
  • Oversee day-to-day platform operations, ensuring reliability and performance.
  • Run security testing and provide guidance on remediation strategies.
  • Prioritize tasks and work closely with business stakeholders to align platform initiatives with business needs.
  • Coordinate with relevant other EY technology groups, as needed, for operational and release management support.
  • Manage DevOps team members and participate in future hiring as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with executive stakeholders to provide updates and recommendations.
  • Review and understand code with ability to debug code and troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Deliver high-quality work within expected timeframes and on budget.
  • Monitor progress, manage risk and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes.
  • Manage and motivate teams with diverse skills and backgrounds.


Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role, you must have
  • A bachelor's degree in technology, information systems, or computer science, and a minimum of 7 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 6 years of related work experience
  • Approved certification
  • Experience with front-end programming languages such as C# and .NET.
  • Exposure to API technologies and understanding of how APIs work.
  • Familiarity with AI concepts and their application in platform operations.
  • Proficiency in Azure and understanding of technology integration from infrastructure to application level.
  • Ability to review and debug code when necessary.
  • Strong understanding of application architecture and platform management.
  • Experience coordinating with Infosec and architecture teams.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with vendors and internal teams.
  • Experience running security testing and implementing remediation strategies.

  • Excellent prioritization, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Characteristics of a forward-thinker and self-motivator that thrives on new challenges and adapts quickly to learning new skills.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to interact with executive stakeholders.

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $101,700 to $294,800. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $122,000 to $335,100. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
