Job DescriptionOur goal is to have the senior manager capable of managing highly talented engineers concentrated in Nashville in a high paced environment, to develop world class software. Senior manager needs to be hands-on and able to build and understand code. Growth in this role means being able to deliver results in a timely manner, assessing risks and defining a mitigation plan, and making sure the deliverables are of the highest quality. The primary focus for this position will be on Operating Systems (kernel, uboot, firmware), robotic (ROS2/DDS), assurance (IMA, TPM, Veraison), Security (Verified Boot, SecureBoot).
This is an opportunity to lead teams building software that directly improves how OCI supports global data center infrastructure, reduces operational friction, increases automation, and enables OCI to scale efficiently.
This role works closely with product, infrastructure, security, hardware, and platform teams, as well as external silicon and hardware vendors. You will be deeply hands-on, working on early prototypes through production-ready platform software and technical standards.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
- Lead, grow, and develop high-performing software engineering teams responsible for Trusted Robot Platforms.
- Own the design, delivery, reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of software services used to support the long-term the robot platforms.
- Partner with product managers, technical program managers, operations leaders, and engineering stakeholders to define roadmaps, prioritize investments, and deliver high-impact software.
- Establish strong engineering practices around architecture, service ownership, observability, testing, deployment, security, incident response, and operational readiness.
- Lead teams through the full software lifecycle, including requirements definition, technical design, implementation, launch, production operations, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and develop engineering managers, technical leads, and senior engineers through coaching, feedback, career development, and performance management.
- Recruit, hire, and retain strong engineering talent while building a culture of ownership, inclusion, technical excellence, and customer focus.
- Drive cross-functional alignment across complex technical and organizational boundaries, making clear trade-offs between speed, quality, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
- Use metrics, analytics, and operational feedback to continuously improve software quality, system performance, user experience, and business outcomes.
- Participate in operational reviews, customer escalations, roadmap discussions, and technical deep dives as needed to ensure services meet high standards for availability and effectiveness.
