Job Summary
As part of the Strategic Planning and Performance Management team, Sr Manager, Strategy & Portfolio Optimization leads end-to-end, executive-visible strategic initiatives that drive profitable growth and long-term value creation in Vistra's residential retail portfolios. Acting as a thought partner to senior leadership, the Senior Manager will frame ambiguous problems, develop rigorous analytical insights, and translate strategy into actionable initiatives across the enterprise for the existing portfolio and growth opportunities.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities
• Lead cross-functional teams in assessing acquisition and retention strategic opportunities across the Residential portfolio, driving profitable growth across ERCOT and national markets
• Define and lead portfolio-level analytics that inform market positioning, lifecycle strategy, and investment prioritization
• Identify, size, and scale high-ROI growth and lifecycle opportunities through deep-dive analytics and experimentation.
• Translate data and analysis into clear, fact-based recommendations for senior leadership
• Coordinate cross-functional execution of priority initiatives and support transition to sustainable operating ownership
• Integrate market, customer, and operational insights into ongoing go-to-market and growth strategy discussions
• Build and lead approval of investment-grade business cases for campaigns, revenue initiatives, and enabling technology
• Lead, mentor, and develop analytical talent, setting a high bar for insight quality, ownership, and business impact.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in business or related field; MBA or other related advanced degree preferred
• 8-10 significant professional experience in strategy, financial & data analysis or consulting role; 10+ year preferred
• Understanding of general accounting principles
• Demonstrated track record of leading cross functional projects with exposure to executive leadership
• Experience working in and achieving strong results in a fast paced competitive consumer services business
• Experience with Python, SQL and Visualization; comfortable with manipulating and analyzing big data to identify actionable segments and insights

Key Metrics
• Drive incremental acquisitions while maintaining profitability throughout customer lifecycle (Gains)
• Optimize cross channel sales approaches (CPA, Gains)
• Analysts under the Sr Manager should show demonstrable improvement and growth over time
• Manage portfolio optimization through customer lifecycle management and customer retention activities (CLV, Unit Margin, Gains)
• Develop and implement strategies to drive key performance priorities and outcomes, including profitability and customer count metrics (Profitability, Unit Margin, NPV, PV/I)
• Demonstration of effective collaborative relationships with key business stakeholders, peers, and direct reports
