Full Job Description
Position Summary

This is a high-visibility, high-impact role at the center of Corporate Finance. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Strategic Finance, you will serve as the key support partner across the strategic finance and finance transformation agenda - driving special projects, strategic workstreams, Board of Directors deliverables, and executive support for the CFO and CAO.

You will operate as a trusted right hand to the VP: framing ambiguous problems, building the analysis and models that inform enterprise decisions, and partnering across Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Treasury, and the operating companies. You will also help lead our AI and data agenda - modernizing finance infrastructure, incorporating AI, tooling, and ways of driving growth and scaling operations.

The ideal candidate combines rigorous financial and analytical horsepower with executive presence, intellectual curiosity, and a bias for action. You are equally comfortable building a long-term model from scratch, synthesizing a Board-ready narrative, and driving ad-hoc special projects.

Key Responsibilities
Special Projects & Strategic Workstreams
  • Lead and support special projects and cross-functional strategic workstreams that advance the company's enterprise and value-creation priorities.
  • Structure ambiguous problems into clear frameworks, workplans, and decision-ready analyses for senior leadership.
  • Drive execution end to end - from problem definition and data gathering through analysis, recommendation, and implementation follow-through.
Financial Planning & Capital Allocation
  • Support strategic and financial planning - helping the team shape the company's financial goals and trajectory over the next 3-to-5-years.
  • Lead capital allocation analysis - evaluating which new projects, investments, and business opportunities will deliver the highest risk-adjusted returns.
  • Build complex models, scenarios, and business cases that inform long-term targets and where the company deploys capital.
Board & Executive Deliverables
  • Prepare Board of Directors (BOD) materials - building the analysis, narrative, and presentation content behind key deliverables.
  • Provide direct CFO and CAO support on priority initiatives, updates, and enterprise decisions requiring finance leadership input.
  • Translate complex analysis into clear, executive-ready communication that drives alignment and action.
Finance Transformation, AI & Data
  • Help drive the AI and data agenda for the finance organization - identifying, piloting, and scaling opportunities to modernize how finance works.
  • Support the modernization of finance infrastructure and tooling - partnering with finance, technology, and data teams to improve data quality, automation, and self-service analytics.
  • Champion new ways of working that increase speed, accuracy, and insight across planning, reporting, and analysis.
Business Support and Ad-Hoc Analysis
  • Lead benchmarking, performance analysis, and other workstreams to identify opportunities to improve growth, productivity, and profitability within our portfolio of operating companies.
  • Drive ad-hoc analyses across a broad range of financial, strategic, and operational areas.
  • Partner with Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Treasury, and operating-company leadership to support other Corporate-related workstreams.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related quantitative field.
  • 7-10+ years of progressive experience in strategic finance, FP&A, corporate development, investment banking, consulting, or a comparable analytical finance role, including experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills - able to build sophisticated models from scratch and translate data into insight.
  • Executive communication - proven ability to build and deliver Board-level and C-suite-ready materials.
  • Business partnership - strong track record influencing and collaborating across functions and levels.
  • Bias for action and ownership - thrives in ambiguity, manages multiple priorities, and drives work to completion.
Preferred
  • MBA, CFA, CPA, or equivalent advanced credential.
  • Experience at a large, multi-business or Fortune 500 industrial / diversified company.
  • Data & AI fluency - hands-on experience with modern analytics tools, data platforms, and applying AI/automation to finance workflows (e.g., Power BI, SQL, Python, or comparable).
  • Exposure to corporate development, investor relations, or treasury.

Core Competencies
  • Strategic & analytical thinking - connects detailed analysis to the enterprise picture.
  • Executive presence - credible, clear, and composed with senior stakeholders.
  • Intellectual curiosity - challenges "the why" and seeks out better questions, tools, and answers.
  • Adaptability - delivers high-quality work amid ambiguity and shifting priorities.
  • Collaboration & influence - builds trust and drives outcomes without direct authority.
