Full Job Description
The Production Scheduler is responsible for creating and maintaining a factory schedule for Customer Orders, Job Orders, Material and Manufacturing Resources that effectively balances Supply and Demand for manufactured and procured product. The company Production Schedule is aligned with the Business Operations Plan resulting from Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) and is the basis for detailed manufacturing schedules and Job Orders on the shop floor. The goal is to produce and manage a level loaded factory plan that optimizes capacity utilization and inventory. Developing, implementing and improving on current scheduling processes, tools and systems is a key element of this role.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Analyzes Demand and Supply at the Item, Customer Order and Production Schedule levels, determines out of balance conditions, identifies alternatives and recommends actions for approval.
  • Coordinates with Sales, Inventory, Procurement, Production Control and Manufacturing to better understand lead times for production scheduled items, seeks ways to reduce internal lead times as well as lead times to the customer.
  • Conducts Capacity Planning prior to publishing a Production Schedule;
  • Summarizes daily and weekly Production Schedules for released orders and compares these to the Operating Plan to ensure that the Production Schedule is aligned with SIOP commitments;
  • Creates a Production Schedule that satisfies customer demand while level loading work to be released to manufacturing and optimizing inventory levels and resource utilization;
  • Creates a Production Schedule that can be used for detailed material/capacity planning as well as financial planning;
  • Actively participates as a key Subject Matter Expert in Sales, Inventory, Operations Planning (SIOP), helping to set priorities when demand outstrips capacity;
  • Provides monthly Capacity Planning, maintains and updates capacity data for all critical resources/work cells;
  • Maintains scheduling parameters, such as lead times, lot sizes, and cycle times, etc.
  • Liaisons with Engineering, Buyers/Planners and Operations Managers to ensure appropriate labor, machine and scrap standards are considered in the production schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing supply chain or equivalent/related fields
  • 3- 5 years of experience in role progressively increasing responsibilities in Production Planning or Production Control in a Manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience in Scheduling/Capacity Planning.
  • Experience in managing manufacturing processes, productivity and efficiency measurements
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, demand and replenishment
  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Proficient with Oracle Business Intelligence systems.
  • Must be proficient in Excel (advanced formulas, pivots, if/then).
  • Strong collaboration abilities with Operations, Sales, Customer Service and Management
  • Experience in managing manufacturing processes, productivity and efficiency measurements

Bonus or Equity
This position is also eligible for bonus as part of the total compensation package.

Pay Range
The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 70,725.00 - 118,105.00
