What is the opportunity?

Our Wealth Management Supplier Management Office is evolving how we deliver supplier risk management. As Senior Manager, Strategic Execution, you will lead operational excellence and strategic initiatives, building trusted partnerships with business units, executing tactical risk management, and delivering quarterly risk reporting that drives accountability and transparency.

This is a pivotal role at the intersection of business enablement and risk governance. You'll drive strategic execution initiatives such as improving transparency on KRIs, lead integration work across acquisitions and business transitions, and work with analytics, governance, and practice management partners to deliver integrated supplier risk management.

Success in this role requires a seasoned risk professional with deep supplier risk expertise, strong business partnering skills, and the ability to lead operational execution with rigor and discipline. Your project management capabilities, strategic thinking, stakeholder acumen, and commitment to data-driven decision-making will be essential as you establish excellence in execution and delivery.

What will you do?

Business Partnership & Transitions
  • Build and maintain trusted partnerships with business units and key stakeholders; serve as trusted risk advisor and business enabler
  • Drive high-touch supplier relationship management, advisory, and concierge-level support for critical suppliers
  • Manage segment escalations, reassessments, and ongoing supplier risk oversight tailored to business complexity and risk profile
  • Assess supplier portfolios during integrations; identify risks, redundancies, and optimization opportunities


Strategic Execution & Program Leadership
  • Drive strategic initiatives and programs that enhance supplier risk management effectiveness and transparency
  • Lead end-to-end ownership of strategic projects from planning through execution to closure, ensuring alignment with business objectives and risk governance
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvement and efficiency gains; translate improvements into sustainable processes and practices
  • Develop and maintain strategic roadmaps for segment supplier risk management aligned with business transformation priorities
  • Manage stakeholder communications during organizational changes


Business Unit Reporting & Governance
  • Execute quarterly business unit reporting -delivering tactical risk summaries, material escalations, and segment insights
  • Manage reporting timelines, stakeholder communications, and follow-up actions
  • Escalate material governance questions to governance leadership for decision-making


Data Governance & Transparency
  • Own data hygiene and supplier profile standardization; develop and maintain data governance frameworks specific to segment needs
  • Improve transparency on KRIs and drive strategic initiatives that enhance accountability and visibility on overdue items
  • Collaborate with analytics partners on data quality and consistency standards
  • Document data issues, support root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement


What do you need to succeed?

Must haves:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Finance, or equivalent field
  • Experience: 5+ years in third-party risk management, supplier risk, or related governance roles; 2+ years executing supplier risk assessments, reassessments, or ongoing risk management
  • Risk Knowledge: Deep knowledge of supplier risk assessment frameworks, risk taxonomy, and vendor due diligence methodologies
  • Business Partnering: Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with business leaders and manage complex stakeholder dynamics
  • Project Management: Strong organizational, prioritization, and project management skills to manage multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically about supplier risk in context of business objectives and organizational priorities
  • Communication: Ability to communicate complex risk concepts clearly and persuasively to senior stakeholders and business units
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities with meticulous attention to detail


Nice-to-have:
  • MBA or relevant professional certifications (FRM, CRM, PRM, PMP)
  • Change management and/or process engineering experience
  • Hands-on experience with third-party risk platforms (Archer SRMA, iValua, LeanIX, or similar)
  • Familiarity with RBC's supplier ecosystem, wealth management, or capital markets environment
  • Experience with business integration, M&A, or organizational transitions
  • Experience with process improvement, automation, or emerging AI/automation technologies
