WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
Nike is looking for a Senior Manager, Security Capability Owner - Identity & Access to lead the strategy, roadmap, standards, and outcomes for Nike's physical identity and access capability. This role is accountable for the future-state capability that determines who is on campus, what they can access, how access is granted, and how access is monitored and improved over time.
In this role you will work and collaborate with:
  • Global Security & Safety leadership and operations teams
  • Security Modernization PMO and external project management resources
  • Technology, Security Architecture, and platform teams
  • Global Places & Services, Facilities, and workplace partners
  • HR, Legal, Privacy, Procurement, Finance, and other enterprise functions
  • External delivery partners, vendors, integrators, and consultants
  • Other Security Capability Owners to ensure integrated outcomes across domains

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The candidate should demonstrate:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
  • 7+ years of experience in product management, program management, security technology, physical security, operations, governance, or related disciplines.
  • Experience developing capability strategies, roadmaps, standards, operating models, and multi-year execution plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives through influence in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across business, technology, operations, and support functions.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with practical execution oversight and special project management within a defined swim lane.
  • Experience defining standards, policies, integration requirements, adoption plans, and performance measures.
  • Comfort working with PMO teams, contract labor, delivery partners, and vendors to coordinate implementation without directly managing every project.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to create clear one-pagers, roadmaps, status narratives, risks, KPIs, and leadership-ready updates.
  • Data-informed decision making; comfortable using metrics, adoption signals, operating feedback, and risk indicators to improve capability performance.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across adjacent capability domains and avoid fragmented solutions.
  • Experience with physical access control, visitor management, credentialing, onboarding/offboarding, badge technology, digital access cards, handheld validation, or access analytics preferred.
  • Ability to translate operational access needs into clear capability requirements, standards, and roadmap priorities.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON
  • Drive the Identity & Access capability roadmap, including access control, visitor management, credentialing, onboarding/termination protocols, badge technology, digital access cards, handheld validation, and access analytics.
  • Recommend and implement standards and requirements for how identity and access capabilities should work across facilities, technology platforms, operational teams, and user groups.
  • Partner with HR, Technology, Security Operations, Places, Privacy, Legal, and delivery partners to align access processes and technology decisions.
  • Prioritize improvements that reduce fragmentation, improve user experience, strengthen controls, and support scalable global operations.
  • Monitor adoption, performance, risk, and maturity of identity and access capabilities and recommend corrective actions or roadmap adjustments.
  • Lead strategic access-related initiatives and special projects while coordinating delivery through PMO and contract project management support.

CAPABILITY OWNER ACCOUNTABILITY
Capability Owners drive the outcome and roadmap for their domain, not every individual project. They influence the outcomes of end-to-end capability performance, standards, integration outcomes, adoption, and roadmap progress. They strategically manage special projects within their swimlane, but execution is coordinated through the PMO, contract labor, delivery partners, and cross-functional teams to maintain consistency and avoid fragmentation.
Capability Owners:
  • Through capability leadership support, execute the strategy, roadmap, and shepherd capability enhancement and continuous improvement to drive outcomes for the assigned capability.
  • Recommend and implement standards, policies, operating expectations, and integration requirements for the capability domain.
  • Drive prioritization within the capability domain and make clear recommendations on sequencing, tradeoffs, and dependencies.
  • Ensure adoption and performance against intended outcomes, including capability maturity, usability, reliability, and business alignment.
  • Provide inputs into portfolio reporting, including status, risks, issues, dependencies, KPIs, decisions, and escalation needs.
  • Lead special projects within the assigned swimlane where strategic capability ownership is required.
  • Coordinate execution through the PMO, contract project management labor, delivery partners, and functional teams to maintain consistency and avoid fragmentation.
  • Collaborate with other Capability Owners to ensure security capabilities operate as an integrated ecosystem rather than isolated tools, processes, or projects.

Capability Owners do not:
  • Act as the primary project manager for every initiative in the domain.
  • Independently create separate reporting frameworks outside the portfolio governance model.
  • Execute delivery in isolation from the PMO, contract resources, delivery partners, or cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Drive every individual project task, vendor activity, or implementation detail when those responsibilities are assigned to delivery teams.

EXECUTION MODEL
This role operates as a balance of project manager and program manager. The Senior Manager owns capability outcomes, standards, roadmap development, adoption, performance, and prioritization while using PMO and contract project management support for day-to-day delivery coordination. The role is expected to work cross-functionally and collaboratively with peer Capability Owners so Nike's security modernization efforts operate as one integrated ecosystem.
