Job Description:

Primary Purpose of the Role

Lead, develop and oversee the Reporting & Insights function for FCI Operational Excellence, providing advanced reporting, analytics and business intelligence expertise to enable data-driven decision-making. The role transforms complex operational data into accurate, timely and decision-ready reporting via Power BI; applies advanced analytical techniques, forecasting, visualization and insight generation; establishes governance and controls for management information; and provides workforce planning, trend analysis and strategic insights to support operational performance, risk management, regulatory obligations and business planning.

Provide strategic and day-to-day direction across Reporting Operations, Governance, Capacity Planning and Insights. Serve as the primary escalation point for significant reporting, data-quality or control matters and partner with senior leaders to set priorities, strengthen reporting integrity and advance automation, data management, advance analytics, visualization and scalable business intelligence capability.

Key Accountabilities

Customer

  • Lead a team that delivers recurring dashboards, scorecards, executive packages, operational inventory reporting and ad hoc analysis in accordance with defined calendars and approval requirements.


  • Establish clear reporting standards, data-validation controls, management review, backup coverage, evidence retention and escalation protocols to support reliable and auditable outputs.


  • Translate complex performance, capacity and risk information into concise executive commentary, trends, root causes, outlook and practical recommendations.


  • Own intake and prioritization for reporting changes, defects and enhancements; balance critical production commitments with automation, rationalization and longer-term capability development.


  • Partner with FCI, FCRM, Technology, Data, Business Intelligence, Finance and Workforce Management to improve data pipelines, reporting infrastructure, metric consistency and stakeholder outcomes.


  • Lead capacity and scenario planning using forecast workload, productive capacity, productivity, attrition, learning-curve and inventory assumptions; identify gaps and recommend resource actions.


  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, communicate analytical limitations transparently and resolve or escalate competing priorities, data concerns and service risks.


Shareholder

  • Protect the integrity and credibility of management reporting by governing metric definitions, ownership, lineage, calculation logic, thresholds, certification, change control and retirement.


  • Identify and manage reporting, data, operational and regulatory risks; promptly escalate non-standard or high-risk issues and ensure action owners; interim controls, due dates and closure evidence are documented.


  • Ensure the function operates in compliance with applicable internal policies, enterprise data and control requirements, record-retention standards, audit expectations, and regulatory obligations.


  • Lead remediation and sustainable process improvement arising from audits, regulatory reviews, control testing, data assessments, and management review.


  • Advance automation, standardization, and reporting rationalization to improve efficiency, resilience and decision value without weakening control effectiveness.


  • Provide reporting and documentation for senior management, governance committees, Audit and regulators; review and approve material outputs within delegated authority.


  • Contribute to operating plans, strategic roadmaps and resource decisions, aligning team capacity to the highest-value business and control priorities while monitoring emerging trends and technology developments.

  • Lead and develop an engaged, inclusive and high-performing team through effective talent selection, goal setting, coaching, recognition, performance management, compensation decisions and succession planning.

  • Foster collaboration across Reporting Operations, Governance, Capacity Planning and Insights so that production discipline and controls enable stronger analytical value.

  • Provides people-management leadership and oversees a highly complex and diverse function in an area of significant operational, regulatory, reputational and data risk.


  • Acts as a strategic partner to the leadership team on portfolio performance, capacity, financial and operational planning, reporting risk and emerging opportunities.


  • Collaborates across business, data, technology and control functions to execute common goals and resolve complex, ambiguous or cross-functional issues.


  • Exercises significant judgement when reviewing material reporting products, capacity plans, analytical conclusions, executive commentary, metric changes and governance evidence.


  • Balances recurring production with longer-range planning, automation, control maturity and capability development, generally looking 12 months or more ahead.


  • Accountable for the quality, timeliness, and sustainability of the function's outputs and for appropriate escalation to senior leadership.


Experience & Education

  • Undergraduate degree in business, analytics, finance, economics, statistics, mathematics, computer science or related discipline.


  • Advanced degree preferred, professional accreditation and/or 10+ years of relevant experience in reporting, analytics, business intelligence, workforce planning, operational excellence, governance, risk management or related field.


  • Demonstrated experience leading people and delivering through managers, specialists or cross-functional teams in a complex, regulated environment.


  • Advanced knowledge of management reporting, executive communication, reporting controls, audit evidence practices, data analysis, forecasting, and visualization.


  • Strong ability to convert complex information into concise, fact-based conclusions, risks and recommendations; exercise judgement in ambiguity; challenge constructively; and influence senior stakeholders.


  • Experience managing multiple critical deliverables with fixed reporting cycles and interdependent data sources.


  • Financial services, FCRM/AML, compliance, or operations experience are required. Advanced hands-on proficiency with Power BI and Excel is required, including dashboard development, data modelling and reporting automation; and the ability to work directly with SQL and databases, Power Query or Python.


Work activities include a blend of highly collaborative activities and individual deliverables. Individuals are expected to be onsite 4 days a week. Colleagues may spend more or less days in office as required by the business line.
