Job Description

The Senior Manager, Global AML Client Risk Rating uses their AML experience and analytic capabilities to enhance AML Client Risk Rating (CRR) models/methodology including predictive analytics and machine learning. The Senior Manager will collaborate with model/methodology developer, AML advisory, business, HRC Management and external vendors to facilitate efficient and effective implementation of RBC client due diligence process through process automation and analytics support. The Senior Manager will provide insight and oversight of RBC's AML client risk rating model/methodology and identify opportunities for tuning and optimization

Client Risk Rating Methodology
  • In coordination with global stakeholders, establish and monitor RBC's financial crimes client risk.
  • Perform analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities to continuously improve RBC's financial crimes client risk rating program.
  • Provide support on business requirements for CRR methodologies and maintain client risk rating models and methodologies.
  • Perform research and in-depth analysis on existing and emerging client segments, including the appropriate controls to manage specific client risk factors.
  • Apply strong analytic capabilities to develop and maintain CRR models
  • As part of AML client risk rating, tune and optimize CRR models/methodologies to ensure optimal efficiency and effectiveness along with maintaining CRR related documentation
  • Assess model/methodology effectiveness and efficiency (suitability) and AML expert judgment based on changes to RBC product offerings, services, customers and geography risk
  • Continuously identify new opportunities to streamline existing processes to improve compliance efficiency
  • Ensure that high-risk clients are subject to stricter controls and oversight to minimize AML risks


Documentation and CRR issue management:
  • Manage client risk rating documentation such as model white paper, annual assessments and model performance tracking etc.
  • Support regulatory requirements, IAS and model validation exams
  • Address and manage regulatory observations and open issues from audit/model validation issues timely


Innovation and Transformation:
  • Support development of new methods and tools for managing RBCs risk exposure to high-risk industries and sectors through machine learning initiatives and advanced dashboard capabilities
  • Partner with stakeholders, industry peers and external vendors to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the CRR program
  • Identifying industry best practices and new technologies for strategic consideration by the AML Monitoring and AML Governance Committee
