Full Job Description
Position Summary
The Senior Manager - Product Development & Validation is responsible for inventory management, project oversight and management, and acts as an SME to external teams where appropriate. The Senior Manager's scope of responsibility includes cross-functional team integration and communication, in addition to department wide organizational skills.

Job Responsibilities
  • Participation in strategical planning of laboratory development and expansion.
  • Maintain laboratory inventory as it relates to assay development and validation testing.
  • Connect with external and 3rd party vendors to coordinate evaluation of assays, reagents, and technologies.
  • Submits and follows through with legal documents and agreements as required.
  • Ensure proper laboratory planning and management, equipment calibration and maintenance, safety.
  • Exhibits skilled management that benefits the team and encourages growth, development, and participation.
  • Must exhibit proficient managerial skills including motivation, organization, conflict resolution, and task delegation.
  • Assists as needed to perform other related duties and special projects as required.
  • Accepts other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications
  • Experience managing teams for assay development/validation for clinical labs (beneficial).
  • 3+ years of management in Product Development.
  • Experience managing teams with 5+ people.
  • Ability to independently solve or escalate problems appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Strong team skills with an ability to work with other employees in a positive and constructive way.
  • Good business judgment.
  • Communication - Proficient verbal and written communication skills; willingness to share and receive information and ideas from all levels of the organization in order to achieve the desired results.

Physical Demands
  • Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use standard office equipment.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift objects over 30 pounds.
  • May have exposure to high noise levels, fumes and bio-hazardous material in the lab environment.
  • May be required to handle and transport hazardous waste materials.
