Job DescriptionWhat the is opportunity?RBC Insurance's Data Management Office (IDMO) team is seeking a dynamic and innovative Senior Manager to elevate our Privacy and Regulatory risk and governance programs. This role offers the opportunity to drive meaningful change, optimize processes, and deliver impactful solutions that enhance RBC Insurance's privacy and operational risk resilience. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to balance compliance with business objectives and to integrate best practices and guidelines into an effective privacy risk management framework.
As a leader in privacy governance you will drive strategic privacy initiatives, embed robust governance processes, and oversee compliance with Privacy Control Management Framework. You will act as a subject matter expert on privacy risk, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement in privacy risk management
What will you do?- Lead Privacy Initiatives and projects: Ensure material privacy risks or events which have a segment wide impact (for example, regulatory change) requiring a strategic approach to remediation are addressed.
- Champion Change Management: Develop and execute stakeholder communication, training, and adoption strategies to support new regulations and policies within RBC Insurance's operations.
- 1LOD Privacy Officer for low-risk privacy incidents, conducting end-to-end oversight, challenge reviews, and approvals. Assess "Risk of Harm" using the Privacy Breach Playbook to guide remediation efforts. Main contact for PIRTs to support the business and provide support throughout the process.
- Strategic Execution: Develop and report on Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Risk Appetite Metrics (RAMs) to support privacy risk management and mitigation across Insurance. Monitor and analyze KRIs to identify systemic issues and assess action plans for remediation
- Issue Management & Control Assurance: Collaborate with Insurance business units, Operational Risk, Global Privacy Office (GPO), and Internal/External Audit to integrate best practices, audit findings, and policy updates into RBC Insurance's privacy framework.
- Governance & Compliance: Strengthen the privacy risk management framework by embedding governance into business-as-usual workflows and ensuring alignment with broader regulatory and operational risk strategies.
- Training & Culture: Champion privacy awareness and foster a continuous learning mindset with 1LOD risk owners.
What will you need to succeed?Must-Have:- University degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field
- 5 to 7 years of experience with privacy risk management, compliance, tools and methodologies
- Certifications (e.g., CIPP, CRISC) or equivalent experience preferred
- Hands-on experience with Archer modules such as PIRT, ORMS, EIM, RegComp and PARA
- Proven ability to lead complex initiatives from concept to completion
- Exceptional skills in stakeholder engagement, persuasion, and presenting to senior leadership
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills to address compliance challenges

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.
Pay RangeThe expected pay range for this position is:
$90,000.00 - $140,000.00
