What you’ll be doing

Working as part of the Enterprise Physical Security team within Corporate Security, this position will support the delivery of its overall mandate by supporting the physical security operations program. Reporting to the Director, GSOC, the Senior Manager, Physical Security Operations Centre is strengthening relationships with internal/external stakeholders, operational support, optimizing security preparedness and response, overseeing day-to-day physical security initiatives to ensure the requirements of the physical security operations program are met.

How you’ll succeed

  • Strategic Leadership – You will set the operational direction for Global Security Operations, establishing clear performance expectations and driving a culture of continuous improvement, coaching, and professional development across the team.
  • Service Continuity & Workforce Planning – You will ensure uninterrupted 24/7 operations through effective workforce planning, onboarding/offboarding, and succession management, optimizing staffing models and resource allocation.
  • Incident Management & Escalation – You will oversee complex incident response and escalation management for high-impact events, ensuring timely resolution, transparent communication, and adherence to established procedures.
  • Governance & Compliance – You will lead governance routines, including KPI reviews and operational risk/control tracking, ensuring compliance with all CIBC policies, standards, and controls, and driving ongoing process enhancements.
  • Stakeholder & Supplier Partnerships – You will build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, overseeing third-party contract performance and collaborating to enhance security outcomes and operational resilience.
  • Reporting & Innovation – You will deliver executive-level reporting on operational metrics and incident trends, while advancing the use of emerging technologies and best practices to strengthen security monitoring and response capabilities.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate at least 5-7 years of experience in supporting a global physical security program or similar security function. You have worked within medium or large enterprises, ideally with international scope, and are familiar with the complexities of multinational environments. A professional security designation (e.g., CPP, PSP from ASIS International) is an asset.
  • You have critical thinking capabilities. You are proactive, able to take initiative, and adept at multi-tasking under pressure. You notice details others may miss and use your sound judgment to manage fluid priorities and make informed decisions.
  • You give meaning to data. You are confident in analyzing and communicating operational metrics, incident trends, and complex information in a concise and impactful way. Your strong verbal and written communication skills enable you to convey findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
