Full Job Description
Senior Manager, Payroll

Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, the Senior Manager, Payroll will be responsible for overseeing payroll at Alamos' Canadian locations. You will work with local payroll teams, providing oversight and ensuring compliance with Company policies, Employment Standards, CRA and other regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of multi-provincial Canadian payroll processing, payroll compliance and deep understanding of payroll systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll cycle for all Canadian locations, ensuring compliance with applicable tax regulations
  • Align payroll processes with organization policies and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and enhance payroll continuity planning across all Canadian sites
  • Educate team members and stakeholders on payroll policies, compliance and best practices.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll and related remittances and reports
  • Drive process improvement and implementation of new technology to ensure overall efficiency and effectiveness of payroll teams
  • Ensure payroll compliance under Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations and relevant labour laws
  • Provide oversight on year end related payroll activities including producing tax documents
  • Support internal and external audits, including providing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Maintain confidentiality of payroll information in alignment with privacy legislation and internal controls.
  • Work closely with Human Resources to accurately provide payment for team members, including the annual compensation cycle and ad hoc requirements
