Full Job Description
We believe the goal posts are shifting in what customers expect from buildings and how services are delivered, driven by the rapid adoption of technology, the need for sustainable solutions, and a commitment to providing healthy places. We see this as an opportunity to continue doing what we have done for more than 60 years: lead the market with innovative, customer-driven solutions. To that end, we are looking for a Senior Manager, Operations Excellence. Reporting to the Director, Operational Excellence, this important leadership role will help advance operational capabilities across Oxford's Canadian Retail, Office, and Industrial portfolios to enhance customer experience, drive operational excellence, and support business performance objectives. We are looking for a well-rounded operations expert who is excited to challenge the status quo and build an industry-leading practice that delivers measurable business results. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who remains calm under pressure, uncertainty, and change; can roll up their sleeves to support diverse teams of experts across the business; and is eager to expand their expertise through enterprise and cross-functional initiatives. You Will Be Responsible For: - Partner with business leaders across the Canadian Retail, Office, and Industrial portfolios to develop and execute a best-in-class operational strategy that enhances customer experience, drives operational excellence, and supports business performance objectives. - Establish and govern operational standards, policies, frameworks, and best practices across asset classes, including maintenance and reliability programs, operational systems, compliance processes, audit programs, building assessments, and performance reporting. - Set standards for preventive maintenance programs and systems, equipment condition, and operations and maintenance practices, while providing hands-on guidance and support to site teams and ensuring adherence to legislative requirements. - Develop and execute the roadmap for operational technology platforms that support building operations, maintenance, compliance, and vendor management. Lead platform governance, business requirements, process standardization, system enhancements, performance measurement, and enterprise-wide adoption to ensure technology investments deliver measurable operational and business value. - Partner with Procurement and site teams to provide national oversight and support for major service contracts, including RFP scope development, contract standards, vendor relationship management, and key performance indicators. - Partner with business leaders, site teams, and Data and Analytics to use benchmarking and performance analytics to identify improvement opportunities, optimize service delivery, implement scalable solutions, and realize measurable business outcomes. - Lead enterprise initiatives and cross-functional programs that advance operational capability, standardization, innovation, customer satisfaction, and business growth. - Provide operations budget guidance for nationally scoped projects, contracts, and consultants. - Maintain and share leading practices and strategic advice for core operational programs by building relationships across the global organization and externally with agencies, industry partners, and real estate standards bodies. - Provide property operations guidance and support for relevant industry certifications, including SHORE, BOMA, and LEED. - Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external business leaders and site teams to advance operational programs, performance, and action plans and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. - Conduct or oversee annual building risk assessments across Canadian asset classes and bring forward new policies and standards for appropriate senior leadership review and approval. Required Skills & Experience: - 10+ years of experience in property management operations, Asset Management, and/or Property Operations within the real estate industry. - Experience managing corporate-level operational programs that support Asset and Property Operations across multiple asset classes. - Strong knowledge of building operations, systems, and technologies, including electrical and mechanical systems, HVAC, and life safety systems. - Demonstrated experience developing and governing operational technology platforms, business requirements, process standards, system enhancements, performance measures, and enterprise adoption. - Exceptional ability to build positive relationships, communicate effectively, and lead through influence across geographies; build consensus; and prioritize action and results. - Strong analytical and data-driven thinking skills, with the ability to evaluate complex situations and synthesize relevant information, including cost-to-serve analysis across the service catalogue. - Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex operational strategies, insights, and recommendations to senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders. Preferred Skills & Experience: - FMA or RPA designation is considered an asset. - Experience designing and implementing innovative solutions in partnership with business stakeholders to challenge the status quo, solve business problems, and accelerate business objectives. - Demonstrated experience leading and implementing change across operational groups and cross-functional teams. - Strong ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results under pressure and within deadlines. - Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and SharePoint. This posting is for an existing vacancy. The expected salary range for this position is $130,000 to $150,000 per year.
