Full Job Description
THE JOB

At VEG, we find a way to say YES to empower our teams to thrive. This role exists to lead and grow VEG's nursing campus ecosystem with clarity, care, and purpose-and to build nursing externships into one of VEG's strongest levers for early career hiring. It is responsible for building meaningful connections across campuses and hospitals, owning the nursing externship strategy end-to-end, and ensuring our campus and externship efforts are organized, scalable, and impactful.

In this role, you'll lead and evolve our nursing campus ecosystem-including CLOVERs, Campus Partners, Ambassadors, partnerships, and events-while also owning the design, build, and scaling of a nursing externship program that connects student engagement to future VEG hiring. You'll serve as the face of VEG for thousands of future veterinary nurses, strengthening our presence across campuses, enabling frontline teams to represent VEG with confidence and consistency, and partnering closely with Talent Acquisition, Nursing Operations, Operations, Field Leadership, Talent Learning & Development, and Marketing to bring the externship strategy to life. This is meaningful, high-impact work. The role shapes the next generation of veterinary nurses while helping build and scale programs that reflect a company deeply committed to elevating credentialed veterinary technicians and investing in the future of the profession.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Own and scale VEG's nursing campus ecosystem-CLOVERs, Campus Partners, Campus Ambassadors, and events-building programs that are effective today and built to grow.
  • Own the nursing externship strategy end-to-end, building a scalable program model and a clear student journey from school engagement to externship participation to future VEG hiring consideration.
  • Design and execute campus marketing and outreach strategies that attract students to VEG's training programs, externships, and career opportunities.
  • Enable and train frontline nursing teams and hospital leaders to confidently represent VEG on campus and to deliver a consistent, high-quality extern experience, modeling best practices and providing clear tools, training, and support.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Talent Acquisition, Nursing Operations, Operations, Field Leadership, Talent Learning & Development, Marketing, and hospital teams to align the externship strategy with broader hiring and business goals
  • Establish program success metrics, reporting, and feedback loops that connect externship and campus activity to measurable hiring outcomes, using data to continuously improve how VEG shows up for students and educators.
  • Drive program excellence through operational ownership, managing budgets, troubleshooting challenges, tracking trends, and building the tools, processes, and standards hospitals need to execute consistently.

WHAT YOU NEED
  • 3+ years of experience working within the veterinary space preferred, including experience building or scaling a program from the ground up
  • Proven ability to take an ambiguous opportunity and turn it into a structured, scalable strategy, and to influence senior and cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to own multiple programs and priorities simultaneously
  • Confident presenting to large groups and representing VEG with credibility and warmth
  • Based in or able to regularly work from White Plains Headquarters (preferred)

WHO YOU ARE
  • Empathetic, instinctively taking a people-centric approach, whether supporting your colleagues or making an effort to understand different perspectives
  • Have a sense of humility; acknowledging mistakes, sharing credit with others, and lifting up your team's accomplishments
  • Feel a strong sense of ownership over your work, taking responsibility for outcomes and staying committed to achieving long-term, impactful results
  • Curious by nature; you ask insightful questions and continuously seek out opportunities to learn and grow your skills and knowledge
  • Comfortable balancing student experience, school relationships, field execution, and talent pipeline goals in a fast-moving environment

HOW WE INVEST IN YOU
  • Competitive Compensation Including ($110,000 - $130,000) + bonus + benefits.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits that start on day one, and access to free therapy or counseling
  • Paid parental leave, up to 12 weeks, at 100% of regular salary, and offering inclusive fertility and family-building care for all types of families
  • Unlimited PTO to use for vacation or sick days-however you need it!
  • Generous employee referral program, so our awesome people can bring in more awesome people.
  • And the little (big) things, like casual office attire, ability to bring your fur baby to work, cool VEG swag, food in the fridge for when you're hungry and free lunches twice a week!
  • Company laptop and a monthly cell phone reimbursement
