Job Overview
The Senior Manager - Enterprise Architecture NAFTA sets the regional architecture direction to ensure technology decisions support business priorities, modernization goals, and target-state outcomes. This role partners closely with Mercedes-Benz Group AG (MBAG) and regional business and technology leaders to align NAFTA priorities with global principles, standards, and target architectures while translating enterprise strategy into practical regional roadmaps
The role leads enterprise architecture across business, application, data, integration, cloud, AI, and infrastructure domains and serves as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across NAFTA. It drives architecture governance, informs portfolio and investment decisions, and enables transformation through reusable standards, clear target states, and multi-year roadmaps

Responsibilities:
Architecture Strategy & Vision
• Define and maintain the enterprise architecture vision for NAFTA, aligned to business strategy and operating model priorities
• Develop and communicate target architectures and multi-year roadmaps that drive modernization, simplification, and capability enablement across NAFTA
• Partner with MBAG and regional stakeholders to translate global architecture direction into actionable NAFTA priorities, standards, and execution plans
Governance & Decision Making
• Lead enterprise architecture governance, including Architecture Review Board activities
• Establish and enforce architecture principles, standards, and guardrails
• Review major initiatives to ensure alignment with target architecture and enterprise standards
• Prepare clear decision materials for senior leadership and executive forums
Enterprise-Wide Technology Leadership
• Provide oversight across business, application, data, integration, cloud, and infrastructure architecture domains
• Guide cloud modernization, platform standardization, and integration strategy
• Drive portfolio rationalization across NAFTA by leading transformation initiatives that reduce application and technology complexity through harmonization, consolidation, and simplification-improving efficiency, consistency, and scalability
• Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements, including security, scalability, resilience, and performance
Data, AI & Emerging Technologies
• Shape enterprise data and analytics architecture direction
• Guide the adoption of responsible AI and emerging technologies
• Provide architectural leadership for AI adoption by defining patterns, standards, and guardrails that ensure AI solutions are secure, responsible, and aligned with enterprise architecture principles
• Ensure alignment with data governance, security, and compliance requirements
Stakeholder Engagement
• Act as the bridge between MBAG, NAFTA business leaders, product owners, and technology teams
• Translate complex technology concepts into clear business language
• Influence investment, portfolio rationalization, and modernization decisions through architecture insight and target-state guidance
Leadership & Communication
• Lead with influence, clarity, and strong cross-functional collaboration
• Build and develop a high-performing enterprise architecture capability across the region
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and knowledge sharing
• Coach and develop team members to strengthen architecture maturity, decision quality, and business impact
• Provide direction in complex environments and drive performance through strategic alignment, simplification, reuse, and continuous improvement
This role partners closely with MBAG enterprise architecture leadership, global domain architects, and senior technology leaders across NAFTA to align regional priorities with enterprise standards, roadmaps, and transformation goals
Qualifikationen QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience in one of the following areas:
Computer Science
Information Technology
Certifications:
• Preferred certifications include TOGAF and cloud architecture credentials such as Azure or AWS
• The ideal candidate will complete current and future Mercedes-Benz-required certifications and learning programs relevant to the role
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• 15+ years of IT experience with deep expertise in enterprise architecture, transformation, and complex technology landscapes
• Experience with architectural transformation, radical standardization, and process mining initiatives in traditional auto OEMs' business and financial services
• Proven leadership in cross-functional environments, including team development, coaching, and stakeholder influence
• Strong command of enterprise architecture frameworks, governance practices, standards, and corporate IT policies
• Ability to evaluate trade-offs and guide architecture decisions that balance business value, risk, cost, and non-functional requirements
• Deep expertise in application, integration, data, cloud, AI, security, and infrastructure architecture
• Experience leading modernization and transformation across cloud, integration, data, and platform domains
• Experience with portfolio rationalization, platform standardization, and lifecycle management in large enterprises
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders across business and technology
• Ability to shape regional technology strategy while aligning NAFTA priorities with global enterprise direction
