Senior Manager, Material Preservation and Readiness

Summary

The Senior Manager, Asset and Material Preservation provides enterprise leadership for preservation activities supporting LNG assets and inventories across multiple operating facilities and pipelines, expansion projects, fabrication yards, centralized distribution centers, warehouses, and third-party storage facilities. The role governs preservation programs protecting capital equipment and maintenance inventory while ensuring operational readiness, maximizing equipment reliability, preserving OEM warranties, and supporting safe, successful facility startup and long-term operations. The position collaborates extensively with Engineering, Projects, Operations, Reliability, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Quality, OEM suppliers, and preservation contractors to establish a standardized preservation framework that supports Venture Global's rapid growth and world-class operational performance while also directing the preservation efforts for the Venture Global Operating Support (VGOS) entity.

General Description Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead Venture Global's enterprise Asset and Material Preservation Program for project equipment, operating assets, capital spares, and inventory from receipt through installation, commissioning, startup, and operations.
  • Establish and govern preservation standards, procedures, inspection requirements, storage criteria, OEM requirements, project plans, responsibilities, schedules, deliverables, and handover requirements.
  • Build the preservation organization, technical capabilities, training programs, governance processes, and contractor support model required for consistent execution across projects and operating assets.
  • Manage preservation budgets, forecasts, commitments, actuals, contractor costs, OEM support, materials, equipment, technology, and corrective actions.
  • Direct preservation planning, execution, documentation, and reporting through SAP PM, Prometheus CoConsole, SiteSense, and other applicable systems.
  • Coordinate with Projects, Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, Commissioning, Materials Management, Quality, OEMs, contractors, and suppliers to ensure consistent requirements and execution.
  • Oversee preservation of rotating, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, packaged, and other critical equipment, including required lubrication, rotation, environmental controls, corrosion protection, long-term storage, and OEM-prescribed maintenance.
  • Maintain OEM warranty compliance and preservation records supporting asset integrity, operational readiness, and transition to operational maintenance.
  • Govern contractors, suppliers, OEM representatives, and service providers through defined scopes, technical requirements, performance expectations, cost controls, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Establish and report KPIs for execution, overdue activities, warranty compliance, asset condition, deficiencies, contractor performance, cost, and readiness for installation, commissioning, and operations.
  • Lead preservation risk management, audits, corrective actions, escalation, and continuous improvement to protect asset integrity, warranty coverage, schedule, startup, reliability, and cost.


Qualifications

Required experience
  • Demonstrated safety leadership with responsibility for safe operations
  • 10+ years of experience in industrial or LNG projects or operations with oversight responsibility for asset readiness programs
  • Expert working knowledge of preservation requirements for turbines, rotating equipment, compressors, pumps, electrical equipment, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and control valves including the use of Nitrogen, Environmental Control, Protective Coatings, Desiccants, and Lubrication.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills to maintain productive vendor relationships, team dynamics, and to lead preservation updates in project and readiness meetings,
  • Proficient with MS OfficeSuite, Hexagon SDx, SAP, SiteSense, and Coupa systems or similar is preferred,
  • Experience interpreting engineering documents including Material Requisitions (MRs), Bills of Materials (BOMs), P&IDs, isometrics, specifications, operations manuals, and supplier documentation,
  • Periodic domestic USA travel may be required, ~20-30% or as needed to oversee projects and the remote teams
  • Work Hours: 7AM - 4 PM, In office Monday - Friday; some overtime and weekend hours may be required.


Required Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related technical discipline


Licensing & Certifications
  • Certified or seeking certifications in Asset Management (CMRP, CRE, API, NACE) or Process and Project Management (PMP, ISO, Six Sigma)
