We are seeking a
Senior Manager with deep experience iMergers & Acquisitions (M&A) to help lead our growing Insurance Value Creation vertical. This leader will be responsible for managing complex client engagements, developing trusted executive relationships, driving business development, mentoring teams, and helping shape the future of our Insurance M&A offering.
Responsibilities
Client Leadership
- Lead complex technology, operations, and business transformation engagements for Private Equity and Corporate Strategic clients across the transaction lifecycle, including platform acquisitions, mergers, integrations, carve-outs, and value creation initiatives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive client stakeholders, including CIOs, CTOs, CFOs, business leaders, and Private Equity operating partners.
- Lead pre-close technology and operational due diligence efforts by assessing risks, identifying value creation opportunities, and developing actionable recommendations for investors and corporate buyers.
- Oversee post-close integration, separation, and transformation programs, including Day 1 readiness, operating model design, technology modernization, systems integration, data strategy, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Provide executive-level guidance on technology investments, operating model decisions, organizational design, and transformation roadmaps.
- Ensure successful engagement delivery by managing scope, quality, financial performance, staffing, and client satisfaction across multiple concurrent engagements.
- Lead executive steering committees, workshops, and client presentations while effectively managing complex stakeholder environments.
- Identify risks, resolve issues proactively, and drive measurable business outcomes for clients.
Practice Leadership
- Help define and execute the strategic direction of West Monroe's Insurance M&A practice.
- Develop and enhance methodologies, frameworks, accelerators, and intellectual property supporting technology due diligence, post-close execution, and value creation.
- Collaborate across West Monroe practices-including Software, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Data & AI, and Customer Solutions-to deliver integrated client solutions.
- Mentor, coach, and develop consultants, managers, and senior consultants while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
- Play an active role in recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and career development of team members.
- Contribute thought leadership through market insights, publications, conference participation, and industry events.
Business Development
- Lead business development activities by cultivating executive relationships with Private Equity firms, strategic acquirers, and insurance executives.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities while expanding existing client relationships.
- Lead proposal development, solution design, pricing strategy, staffing plans, and pursuit teams.
- Develop account strategies that generate repeat business and long-term client partnerships.
- Represent West Monroe at Insurance, M&A, and Private Equity industry events while strengthening the firm's market presence.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of consulting, M&A advisory, technology consulting, or operational leadership experience within the Insurance industry.
- Deep expertise across Insurance subsectors, including brokers, carriers, MGAs, InsurTech, insurance services/BPO, and FinTech.
- Significant experience leading technology and operational due diligence, post-merger integration, carve-outs, and value creation initiatives for Private Equity investors and corporate strategics.
- Demonstrated success managing complex consulting engagements and leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven track record developing executive-level client relationships and serving as a trusted advisor to C-suite stakeholders.
- Experience leading business development efforts, including originating opportunities, developing proposals, and expanding client accounts.
- Strong understanding of enterprise technology, cloud platforms, software products, digital transformation, data strategy, and technology operating models.
- Exceptional communication, executive presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing engagement economics and profitability.
- Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop consulting teams while fostering an inclusive, collaborative culture.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 30%; travel is typically short-term (2-3 days on-site per diligence project, with higher travel during post-close execution).
- Authorization to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship.

Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
