We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time
Senior Manager, IT Business Solutions to join our IT team in
Langley, BC. Reporting to the Managing Director, Business Systems Dev & Support, the
Senior Manager, IT Business Solutions will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership across technology solutions supporting Retail, Pharmacy, Human Resources and Communications. In this role, you will partner with business and IT leaders to shape technology strategy, prioritize investments, lead solution delivery and ensure technology initiatives deliver measurable business value.
You will be responsible for:- Leading initiative intake, evaluation, prioritization, portfolio planning and technology roadmaps across assigned business areas.
- Partnering with business leaders to identify opportunities to improve processes, enable growth, reduce risk and improve customer and team member experiences.
- Providing technical leadership and direction to development teams and technology leaders.
- Working with architects and senior developers to evaluate technical approaches and ensure solutions are scalable, secure, reliable, integrated and maintainable.
- Aligning business priorities, technical direction and delivery expectations across complex technology initiatives.
- Driving improvements in software development practices, delivery quality, efficiency, predictability and operational performance.
- Evaluating emerging technologies and recommending solutions that provide meaningful business value.
- Championing the practical and responsible use of automation, AI-enabled solutions and modern delivery tools.
- Leading, coaching and developing managers, developers and other technology professionals.
- Supporting workforce planning, technical hiring, succession planning and capability development.
- Building a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
- Leading vendor evaluation, selection, negotiation and performance management.
- Assessing vendor capability, solution fit, risk, commercial value and long-term partnership potential.
- Supporting technology budgeting, planning, business cases and investment decisions.
- Staying current on technology trends relevant to retail, pharmacy and enterprise business functions.
You have:- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and practical expertise.
- 8+ years of progressive leadership within information technology, software development or technology delivery.
- Significant software development background, including leadership of teams delivering enterprise applications.
- A track record of leading complex technology portfolios and partnering with senior business leaders.
- Strong knowledge of application architecture, secure development, testing, integration, DevOps, CI/CD, release management and operational support.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate technical approaches, manage technical debt and strengthen engineering practices.
- Proven success hiring, coaching and developing developers and technical leaders.
- Strong vendor management capability, including vendor evaluation and commercial negotiations.
- Leadership across modernization, transformation or other large-scale technology initiatives.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, financial planning and business case development.
- Exposure to evaluating or implementing AI-enabled solutions and modern development practices is considered an asset.

The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience and other factors.
